No it's not
Look at all their sales and streams. Not only the first week sales of Chromokopia
if you compare the first 4 days of Chromokopia streaming v Utopia & Mr Morale, Chromokopia did just as well/a little better in the US though?
i don't think anyone expected that
Tyler sold 300k no bundles??
At least half his numbers will come from bundles/physicals.

True, but it could be one time thing tho
We'll see

Tyler's numbers are very impressive any way you wanna look at it. He doesn't have the mainstream appeal Kendrick has and doesn't make any mainstream-sounding music. If he dropped his album on a Friday, I don't see how he doesn't come really close or even surpass 400k first week. Him doing almost 300k off of less than 4 tracking days is INSANE, bundles or no.
This tour is his third time playing arenas. I believe Kendrick has only played arenas twice. Kendrick should have a bigger album but Tyler isn't a slouch either and the success of his album certainly closes the distance between him and Kendrick by a considerable amount.
Tyler just outdid Mr Morale with no THP5 music video, no single, no radio support, not a double LP, and skipping the first 3 days tracking. He is right behind Drake and above Ye at this point. Ye needed 30 songs and a full tracking week with Drake beef promo. Look at Vultures 1 & 2. I know ktt hates Tyler but we got to face the facts. Kendrick dropped his followup song on IG and it did as good as the least popular songs on 100 Gigs which means it came and went...
This level of d***riding is crazy. Tyler himself would disagree with you

Did you say that too about Kendrick when he dropped DAMN and outsold Drake? No, cause you probably looked to all numbers like you should
One album doesn't make Tyler bigger or come close. We'll see how Tylers and Kendricks numbers will be from now on tho. Could be that he eventually surpasses him
This is gonna get a lil cray cray but hear me out: the overall decline in engagement and consumption with/of albums has forced musicians and deeply music minded folks to understand the album on a dopamine level, and the recently growing exceptions like the examples I have are proof of what I’m saying
It’s only going up. Tyler is further proof
how is tyler proof

Kendrick is a weird artist though because his name is bigger than his music, that isn't the case with any other rappers, I'm pretty sure Drake/Ye/Travis's back catalogs have outsold kendrick's by a LOT since 2020. Even Cole's probably has

Am i tripping? Isnt kendrick in the top 10 most streamed rappers?
These gen z (born and appealing to) artists are onto something different concerning the album format. I’m sure the executives see what’s happening. Olivia, Tyler, Charli, Sabrina. It’s all coalescing and people are waking up to how vital the full album experience is
Once the album format becomes visual for this era of music with videos on Spotify, it’s even more over
this is an interesting take considering music videos are the least popular they've ever been

Yeah but i think everyone would agree he's the #2 biggest rapper (And about to become #1 next year) but I think he's probably the 5th most streamed rapper of the last few years, his status in the game isn't translating to people listening to the music, probably cause he barely releases new music & his last album was just... not a replayable project
first 6 months streams in the US
Mr Morale 1.1b
Honestly Nvm 1b
Dawn FM 745m
@fader and you call me a hater, when you say HNVM flopped & Mr Morale & Dawn FM didn't :

i don’t see it sounds expensive to make + most people listen to music in the background doing other s***

That's different. Drake is the biggest rapper in the game and has been for well over a decade with several massive albums to his name. Drake's debut album back in 2010 did almost 450k and he's still doing those numbers almost 15 years later. Even with 2 consecutive successful albums, I wouldn't have said Kendrick was bigger or as big as him.
In terms of success, Kendrick and Tyler are a lot more comparable than Drake and Kendrick. Kendrick really only has 2 major album eras to his name: GKMC and DAMN. TPAB wasn't a flop but it wasn't a massive commercial success and MMATBS was a little less successful than TPAB.
Tyler is a viable touring act, much like Kendrick (Tyler's current tour is his third time playing arenas while Kendrick has only played arenas twice) and now we've seen that he can drop an album that matches Kendrick's numbers so that closes the gap, to me at least.
Of course, like I said earlier, Kendrick is still a bigger artist to me and his next album should be a lot more successful than Tyler's. I just think Tyler closes a lot of that gap right now because we're currently judging Kendrick on the success of his last album era not what he might do on his next album era. Kendrick is still a bigger hit maker to me as well but like I said, Tyler has never tried to make mainstream hit records.
Crazy how i got into tyler when my sister was born and now shes in high school discussing his new album with me

These niggas are genuinely insane.
When people said Travis is bigger than Drake because Utopia outsold For All the Dogs last year, they said that was crazy and called Travis a bundle merchant.
Now Tyler outsells Kendrick’s two-year-old album by 2K units and he’s “closed the gap by a considerable amount”

Yes there's a huge difference between doing it via streams & doing it via gimmicks like bundles, obviously
Do you just wake up thinking about The Weeknd’s numbers or something?
Nah I looked into Mr Morale's numbers based on the discussion & decided to compare to Weeknd+Drake. So like I said, you were just completely wrong
Sao Paulo up to 7th globally (4.87m)
54th in US (717k)
Uzi's album is absolutely completely flopping lol, highest song is 8th in the US, only 3 songs in the top 20. Tyler still has 6
chromokopia 18.9m on its 5th day in US is insane, it has outstreamed utopia & mr morale's 5th days with a lot less songs
5th days:
Utopia 18.8m
Mr Morale 16.6m
he had a good run
Good riddance.
