why are kendrick fans so defensive lol
Why are Drake stans obsessed with Kendrick?
I'm comparing rap album sales in the sales thread
you know what you’re doing you idiot
Taylor Swift's popularity will always feel weird to me because she barely has any recognisable songs that people talk about. It doesn't feel right

agreed

Got her demo in a chokehold
Kinda makes sense

Shake It Off might be the one recognisable song but yeah I'm definitely with you
She makes those crazy numbers because her fanbase is extremely huge and they're all obsessed with her

Because of p**** ass niggas who want to be petty and then gaslight when they get called out
297k better than a lot of recent rap albums, you don't see stans of any other artist in here saying "Wow, Tyler outsold The Off Season with only 4 days of tracking". But Kendrick fans the defensive ones, lmao

Tbh people were saying this like 10-20 pages ago, they were saying Tyler is part of the big 3 now, instead of Cole lol, mfs were disrespecting the hell out of cole.
MJ in 1983, Mariah in 93, Gaga in 2009, Adele two years later and last years Taylor were all bigger.
For clarification, Drake spent 29 weeks at #1 & 113 weeks in the top 10 in 2018 (in both cases, the most weeks any act has spent in a calendar year). He also ended the year as the most consumed artist in the US/Globally.

Speak for yourself, buddy.

Kalmanta probably has a case that Adele's 2011 was bigger globally tbh, but when it comes to US I think you're right

Yeah, I'm speaking of success on the Hot 100 in a calendar year.
Globally, it's countless artists who have sold more albums than Drake ever has in a year and it ain't close

I think Drake had more culture dominating songs in 2018 alone than Taylor has had in the last 5 years honestly, that's weird

J Cole's spot has always been questioned and he's received a lot of hate on this site. Replace Off Season with any recent big rap album by another artist Tyler outsold and my point stands

Doesn't really matter. She's a globally-recognized superstar and she's big enough through her music to have the biggest tour of all time (you can't fake asses on seats). She's outta here when it comes to this superstar thing.

Don't worry, Kendrick's next album will be the biggest rap album of the century.

Yea that's my point though, I think it's a shift in music in general, away from singles and more to albums. Morgan Wallen is the same. Doing ridiculous numbers without recognisable songs is becoming the norm

Can't wait until Drake underperforms with his next project and you're going to ignore this thread for weeks just like you did in the past

They definitely have recognizable songs. They may not have many recent undeniable hits that most of the masses know but the people attending their shows know their music and that's really all that matters tbh.

They were giddy af in that HNVM thread when they found out Drake would be releasing an album on Kendrick's birthday
Then they actually heard the album
