240-275 this is landing at lol. I can’t wait to see Joe buddens podcast with the excuses. Yesterdays episode they were gassing it saying this is doing 700k easy. Akademiks even said it’ll outsell FATD. They were all loud and wrong lmaoo

Ish said it'd do 300k on the first day

They just get on there and yap without knowing how s*** works and because they think the numbers Drake puts up are easy for anyone else to do.

    Spotify:

    Day 1: ~25mil US
    Day 2: ~37.5 mil US

then u begin to project based on normal trends, sunday always lower than saturday, monday boost, and then tuesday-thursday slow decline but stable, u can project something like:

    Day 3: ~30 mil US
    Day 4: ~35 mil US
    Day 5: ~32 mil US
    Day 6: ~30 mil US
    Day 7: ~28 mil US

thats 217.5 mil US streams off spotify for the week, then you simply double that for AM when accounting for AM streams (this part of the formula normally u did a 60/40 split between AM and spotify for drake cus he streams better on AM, but kendricks best platform is spotify so we just do a 50/50 split)

~435 mill US streams total (which is more than that one tweet is projecting with 380mil US streams)

its 1250 premium streams = 1 album sale, but spotify has half its user base on "ad-supported streams" which is 3750 ad-supported streams = 1 album sale

lets assume all his streams will be 90% premium streams

    ~435 mil = ~348k sales first week

Not easy at all. Even if Kendrick manages to break 400M US streams, that's just 290k units. I don't know what he's doing in pure sales but seeing as he doesn't have any bundles or fan packs in store, I don't expect him to do more than 20-30k in digital sales. Best case, he ends up doing 325-350k off the album, from my calculations.

i am, but i just wanted to show kendrick fans how projections work tbh, so i was gracious on the numbers, especially the drops as the days go by and also how many streams will be coming from ad-supported on spotify

Gotcha. I think by Monday/Tuesday, only songs like squabble up, luther and tv off will be doing any real damage on the charts. Maybe peekaboo as well if people don't keep ignoring it but that's about it. That's 4/12 songs. If streams for the other songs 8 drop notably, 400M US streams won't be a possibility.

Yeah this is insane considering how many in here thought he'd do 400k lol

HNVM a dance album with far less hype did 250m streams, so 300-340m for a super hyped new Kendrick project is honestly low to me. im disappointed

this is hyped by men and mostly men. That’s probably the difference

Edit: Let me chill until the actual numbers are in tho

People always fall for the trap bc Drake set up crazy unrealistic standards.

a bar song could’ve got the record tying 19th week at number 1 before AIWFCIY takes over, maybe it’s still hope for this week

  • Nov 24, 2024

i think he does 300k+, I see Monday streams challenging 100M.

People who knew the real decline in hiphop sales ya, but a lot of delusional fans clowned drake for not selling 500k off streaming alone, and will also clown kendrick for not doing it too

Just look at the ban/bet thread for gnx first week sales, the first poster wants a month long ban if not above 500k

I put my prediction in 327k, prob will be really close to that

a lot of ppl stuck in 2018 lol

Charts are crazy weak next week now that Kendrick is out of the way. Would be a great time for the Drake Party album to take over the top 10.

Kendrick has the best physical sales pull too so if this s*** had vinyls, close to 500k was def in the picture.

GKMC still moving 800k copies a year till today.
