My favorite streaming era album, 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly!
They in the sales thread reporting “hours listened” because GNX is outperforming FATD
GNX spotify streams adjusted
Day 1 - 81m
Day 2 - 63m
Day 3 - 51m

Got carried away running numbers and found an interesting pattern. FATD and GNX are performing almost identically if you convert streams in hours listened.
FATD
D1 - 3.6M
D2 - 2.2M
D3 - 1.4M
D4 - 1.6M
GNX
D1 - 1.6M
D2 - 2.3M
D3 - 1.5M
D4 - 1.6M
I guess this shouldn’t surprising because the number of streams for each per day is very similar as well. But it’s why I really don’t believe the theory that more songs definitely equals more streams. There’s only a finite amount of time that people can listen to the music in a day.

They're losing it completely
Where are these GNX projections
Either UMG is totally preoccupied with the obvious right now or some cooking going on

Hours listened
I mean I think it’s an important metric to be able to better understand consumer listening habits to make better predictions in the future.
I also don’t understand how it’s supposed to be me trying to make FATD look better when it shows basically the exact same thing the raw streaming numbers show, GNX performing marginally better after the first day

It makes sense to compare it for albums of the same length, but comparing the hours listened of a 44 minute album and an 85 minute album is genuine insanity
Very interesting video, probably makes sense how drakes able to recoup a $400mil deal without even finishing the albums required if his catalogue is worth the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s combined.
Also, interesting how larry jackson states that streaming opened up the game when it comes to foreign capital entering the catalogue market, as streaming created predictable revenue streams that investors can see and choose to allocate capital into

No it makes even more sense are you dumb. I don’t think you understand how people consume music. People don’t listen to albums the way they watch movies
