oh it went from 325k "minimum" "325k is the floor"

to now its "bascially the same s***"

meanwhile all i was saying was a simple FACT. HDD is NOT FINAL NUMBERS.

and ur response to that simple fact is "ur coping"

yup, its funny cus i wasnt even giving some crazy unrealistic numbers

i was projecting kenny to do 311k with my own calcullations and they were freaking out about how HDD final projection had him at 325k and that was the "floor" :jordanlaff3:

even gave proof of them literally missing projections someitmes by up to ~20-30k units off (Donda is a key example) and still werent hearing it

    1. No he would not.

    2. The “shipping first week” thing wasn’t a rule in 2018

Denying that Drake would put up numbers with merch bundles isn't based in reality, it's just actually delusional. Look at how many physicals everyone else who does bundles sell, but Drake with millions of devoted fans wouldn't do numbers if he paired with his established clothing lines? Lmao ok

And for the second point I was saying I didn't think the Scorpion physical CDs even went up for order in release week

The argument that having a lot of songs automatically means you'll garner the most streams is so silly and stupid lol. Chris Brown and Future have released more songs and projects than Drake and they're nowhere close to having the kind of back catalog activity he has. Someone like Billie Eilish only has 4 projects to her name but her back catalog numbers are outta here.

It all boils down to have a catalog of music that people care to keep going back to. It's really that simple.

Earlier in Drake's career, it was always talks of his music being microwave music that didn't last and they used the fact that he remained consistent as proof that his music had zero lasting-power and that's why he had to keep dropping every year to keep people interested.

Only for us to find out that was all bullshit as he has a catalog that people keep revisiting, and not just his hit songs. Now, you've got folks trying to use that as a sort of dig at him again. And these are the same idiots who'll brag to you about the longevity of GKMC/DAMN

Tbh I don't think the OVO clothing brand really has much to do with Drake anymore outside of it being his brand and logo. Like, if you didn't know the owl was Drake's logo and looked at the clothes they offered you'd have no idea the two were even affiliated. Oliver definitely runs it as its own clothing brand and Drake's "merch" is a separate thing entirely

It would give him a boost, sure, but thinking that it would make FATD’s sales go from 400K to 800K-1M is genuine insanity.

He does not have the type of fanbase that cares about directly buying his music anymore or buying any Drake related merch. All of those OVO and NOCTA drops are all limited releases so it’s no wonder that they sell out.

Even if you look at the digital pure sales for his recent albums, someone like Kendrick can still do 30-40K in digital downloads; Drake is barely even clearing 10K nowadays

They didn't. He didn't sell any physicals of Scorpion the week the album dropped.

While Scorpion launches with over three times as many streams as Views tallied in its first week (745.9 million vs. 245.9 million), Views was able to earn a bigger overall unit number (1.04 million) because it had a much more robust bow in terms of traditional album sales. Views sold 851,000 albums in its first week, all from digital downloads. (The CD didn’t go on sale until its second week of availability). Comparatively, Scorpion sold 160,000 copies, all via digital download. Scorpion will be issued on CD on July 13.
