You're STILL coping. The Weeknd is a mega star. That's why he's getting hit with these expectations. He's one of the biggest artists in the US in the past 25 years. If he wasn't, no one would have expectations for him.

There are many non-rap artists who don't have nearly as much success as he does, who haven't been popular as long as he has and who aren't household names like he is who drop albums and post massive US streaming numbers but for some reason, he can't do it. That's what's being challenged.

How do you still not understand that the only pop artist putting up massive US streaming weeks is Taylor Swift

The Weeknd is not as big as Taylor Swift

Only THREE non-Taylor Swift pop albums have ever debuted with 250+ million streams:

    beerbongs & Bentleys
    thank u, next
    SOUR

    That’s literally it.

This is why you're being called disingenuous. You'll post s*** like this to insist he's a massive force in the US but that doesn't translate to his US streaming numbers whenever he drops an album. I guess now the narrative you want to push is streaming doesn't matter if you can sell stadiums right? But then again, you'll be the first one to post Spotify Monthly Listeners figures and speak endlessly about how the Weeknd has more songs with over 1B streams on Spotify than any other but God forbid anyone hold him to the standard any artist who has achieved those things gets held to. The cope and excuses start flying

Man, you got it. I've proven my point.

Y’all keep posting them small ass Australia arenas and saying there’s no elimination of Drake, please be serious

  • Feb 5, 2025

So Drake tours can be used as evidence of his presence, but Weeknd tours can’t be used as evidence for the same. Got it

You're either stupid or you can't read. Either way, I'm done with this back and forth.

You are utterly delusional. We’ll be here when Drake’s next album drops by another 200 million streams first week and you’re here to excuse it somehow

Billie & Olivia are #1 and #2. The third spot seems to be up for grabs at the moment. I would include Chappell and Sabrina but they both only had one hot year so far

Not gonna lie, it’s funny to see you suddenly downplay The Weeknd’s superstar status in the US

I never once claimed that The Weeknd was the biggest popstar in the US this decade

    Literally not one time.

On a GLOBAL level, he is 100% #2 right behind Taylor.

I’ve said numerous times Drake is bigger than Weeknd in the US

definitely not a flop, BUT the numbers were very inflated by those bundles

if im not mistaken streaming wise it was only 150k or sum like that

One day we gonna find the strong correlation between a consumption threshold of single consumption on at least ONE of the formats and crazy first week sales (crazy being 800k+). I know there’s trusted indicators throughout the eras

Ie so and so # of chart points or sales = so and so first week sales

    what do you mean

    what do you mean

When an album does 800k+ first week in a normal rollout, how many single units do you usually see in the lead single(s)? There’s gotta be a pattern and that’s what I’m looking for
