The reason it sold so well was because there was so many autographed variants available lol.
If he just was a casual pure seller than DawnFM would’ve repeaked #1 with good numbers when them physicals were available. It did like 50k sales after the physicals dropped cause he didn’t have all them autographed variants available
The f***???

I wonder what the stream total is first week
Dawn did 175M streams which equated to 134K SEA
HUT projected to do 128K SEA, that should be like 160-165M streams right?

I can't ever get finessed like this as a fan but I respect the hustle.

It’s funny cause if this is indeed why it sold so many physical copies then it goes back to my assessment on the role that connecting directly with an artist plays in high album demand (normally in the form of personal lyrics ie Drake/Taylor/SZA/Morgan/Adele, or you could say…autobiographical lyrics
)
Based on initial projections it looks like it sold an additional 100k physical copies in stores after the initial shipments went out

Or just that selling an autographed CD for $9.99 and free shipping is seen as insane rare grab for fans? Lol
No major artist has ever released that many “signed” copies as he did.
Taylor and them do signed editions but it’s usually very limited like 20k copies that sell out in one hour.
He sold 320k pure and like 250k+ of that has to be “autographed” versions he’s sold for over a month that he just used a machine for
When the Weeknd does 400k+ first week and I'm proven right as the only one who believed in him
They called me a mad woman
They called me a mad woman
We were wrong
I think this is a massive overperformance though, it’s even 70K+ higher than HDD’s initial projections

I always knew that with all the efforts he was making to push physicals, there'd be no way he wouldn't push past the 400k mark, regardless of how poorly the album streamed in the US. That's why I pointed out that it being marketed as the last "The Weeknd" album as a factor in its success. Any the Weeknd stan would support like crazy just off that.
weeknd the big 1

nah its cuz its a good album
nah its cuz its a good album
most the sales were preorders prior to release
most the sales were preorders prior to release
after 2 banger albums previously that makes sense 🤝
And niggas said there wasn’t hype for this album
Nigga, you were one of those people
You literally said he did a lot of promo but it didn't seem to work and the hype with the general public for the album wasn't there.
I came on here and projected 400k+ and you called me mentally ill for even suggesting that number. He crosses the number with ease and now you're trying to act like you always saw it doing that
