By these numbers, majority of its streams are still from the US. If 1 country accounts for almost half of its total streams, that means the rest of its streams come from the other 75 countries Spotify counts streams from and I bet markets like the UK, Australia and Canada make up at least 85-90% of its total streams so yeah, it isn't a huge song outside the US (and that's okay, most rap songs aren't).

The song was huge in french hip hop and pop radio stations all summer 🤷
Even colleagues from work who are not really into American rap music knew about the song

This is NLU accomplishments within it's first year:

    • Going to be diamond soon
    • Anthem for sports teams unlike any rap song before.
    • 5X Grammies including SOTY, ROTY while not having cookie cutter content.
    • Performed at the Superbowl
    • S*** being so vile got adopted by countless multinational companies for memes as soon as it came out and still exists til this day. Shoutout dualingo.

No rap song, let alone a rap song calling someone a pdf and giving a history lesson to someone who makes mockery of slavery has gotten close to this.

All this while s*** a cultural phenomenon being played everywhere at cookouts and clubs and being a pure rap diss song.

Only Lose Yourself and In Da Club in the convo and NLU will surpass that as well. This song is engrained in HBCU anthems till the end of time

All this while being unapologetically black

    vs God's Plan:
Broke streaming records on Spotify + Apple Music
    Diamond in 12 months
    11 weeks at #1 (NLU 2 weeks)
9 weeks at #1 in the UK (NLU 0 weeks, peaked at #6)
10 weeks at #1 in Canada (NLU never went #1)

#1 in 14 countries globally (NLU went #1 in 4 countries, US, Latvia, New Zealand, South Africa)

Still crazy to me how Drake/hockey stans keep acting like he’s 10x bigger than Kendrick lol. I don’t get it. Kendrick’s biggest hits are just as big as Drake’s and he actually has more of them. The only real outlier for Drake is “One Dance" other than that they’re pretty much on the same level when it comes to big hits (songs with over 1.5 billion streams).

    TOP 5 (without One Dance):

    Drake: God's Plan 2.7 Billion (700k daily)
    Kendrick: Humble: 2.5 Billion (1.6M daily/20x Platinum)

Drake: Sicko Mode: 2.3 Billion (650k daily)
Kendrick: Goosebumps: 2.7 Billion (1.2M daily)

Drake: Passionfruit 1.8 Billion (700k daily)
Kendrick: All The Stars 2 Billion (2.8M daily)

Drake: Work: 1.5 Billion (400k daily)
Kendrick: Money Trees: 1.7 Billion (1.7M Daily)

Drake: In My Feelings: 1.43 Billion (144k daily lol)
Kendrick: Love: 1.52 Billion (900k daily)

Hotline Bling: 1.42 Billion (400k daily)
    DNA: 1.3 Billion (600k daily)

Most of Drake’s biggest hits ain't even pulling 500K streams a day while Kendrick’s are doing millions daily. NLU is already at 1.1B streams and will pass God’s Plan within two years.

And considering Kendrick has released two non commercial albums (TPAB and MM) his numbers are even more impressive.

On top of that, Drake has released nearly 10 more major albums than Kendrick. His numbers just ain't as impressive as some of yall try to make them seem no matter how much yall twist it. If Drake is a superstar then so is Kendrick.

Drake is definitely not 10x bigger than Kendrick lol.

Spotify is one platform. It would be more accurate to compare album units from same era. Also Kendricks numbers have spiked recently so it's not really a fair comparison to use daily Spotify streams.

Neither of those are "non commercial albums"

No one said Drake was 10x bigger than Kendrick.

It’s hilarious that you mentioned Spotify as just one streaming platform cause Kendrick is killing it even harder on Apple Music lol. Show me a Drake album where he actually experiments and isn’t just chasing hits?

Both TPAB and MM are considered non commercial at the level of Drake and Kendrick. If Kendrick really wanted to make a commercial album after GKMC it definitely wouldnt have been TPAB.

Obviously I didn’t mean literally 10x bigger but ice hockey stans act like he’s way way more popular than Kendrick which is just not true at all.

You mentioned spotify. but the point is right now kendrick numbers are spiked so its not a fair comparison. Drake and Kendrick both dont experiment that much.

TPAB and MM both had multiple singles pushed. They really are not that much different. Based on this Drake always a bunch of "non commercial" songs on albums.

It's worth noting that as at the first week of January 2025, Not Like Us had dropped so much that it was averaging 1.5M daily streams on Spotify.
