Unironically I think that’s the thinking most people operate by subconsciously

If people associate their tiktok brainrot and meme of the month with the song then it has cultural impact

To all the dumbasses who still think Not Like Us isn’t the biggest rap song of all time, or at least that it can be argued as such, I have to ask: then what is?

Drake is an underground artist with no cultural moments and zero impact

    Nobody said this man.

But even someone like Weeknd, for as many hit records as he has, I would only argue that a small handful of them were true CULTURAL moments.

Niggas in here saying s*** like Never Recover and Flip the Switch were cultural moments come on dawg lmao

Damn 2M+ jump, he is hitting 90M tomorrow. :

Drake will probably reclaim after his album drop though. This stat in general is bs and flawed af tho.

Exactly. The charts don’t tell the whole story.

But you know these Drake stans aren’t even being genuine when they say that either, because if raw statistics were the only measure that mattered, then HUMBLE. would inarguably be the biggest rap song of all time since it’s the only one that’s ever reached 20x million sold.

But they would never say that.

Humble is huge and top 10 biggest rap songs of streaming era. I don't think it 's fair to compare streaming era song sales to pre streaming.

I think we need to define what is a true cultural moment vs. something that is just a successful record.

For example, would anyone in here say that a song like Paint the Town Red by Doja Cat was a cultural moment? Or was it just a very successful single?

I think we are the wrong demographic for that song lol.

Seeing as this is a sales thread

Can it be mentioned that today Kendrick surpassed Drake's Highest EVER Spotify listener count

  • Feb 11, 2025

Iirc that drake dance album did like 200k right? That's around what I'm expecting for his collab album with partynextdoor.

Maybe higher since I think it will be received better.

I love that song though. It’s not that I didn’t listen to it, but what is the argument for that song being a “cultural moment”? It was just a radio record that people enjoyed

    GNX doing 225K+

    Spot on
I think he might approach 250k depending on how tomorrow holds up.

With NLU includes wouldav hit close to 300k.

Biggest Superbowl Halftime, #1 Album, #1 Song, Biggest rap artist on Spotify all while being unapologetically black

Also doing 100k off of streaming alone is a feat enough
