…no…. the narrative is that selling LOLLIPOP bundles for album sales is cheating, and selling 34 different cover variations is gimmicky. I don’t think has ever said that just a straight up physical CD sale of an album is ‘cheating’

serenadeeven after living through the DAMN. era, i could have never pictured kendrick dominating mainstream music to this degree.
he just popped up out of nowhere, after years of dormancy and assumptions that he was borderline retired, and became the biggest rapper alive 12 years into his run. it's pretty mindblowing.
