Same thing applies. Most R&B albums this decade and the last were flops commercially. And the Weeknd categorizes his music as R&B/Soul, not Pop.
Those DSP genre labels don’t mean a damn thing. You’re deaf if you think an album like Dawn FM is an R&B album
There are literally so many different sub genres of rap, reducing it down to that is genuinely insane
It’s like asking why an Earl album didn’t go #1
After Hours and SOS are literally in top 10 of all albums sold this decade.
idk what people are yapping about
funny thing is i dont think there are any rap albums at the top lmao.
Unabel ain't R&B
Still sticking to my 150-200k projection for $$$4U. Seems like HDD won't be providing projections until Tuesday.
TheGreatLowball when her lowball worked out in her favor
she was ready to say $$$4u was a supreme over performance but now ducks with the protection of “this was always my projection”
Man… I didn’t realize the lore between Drake and Kendrick stans ran this deep. 2022 really struck a chord and it was not a minorrrrrrrrrrrr
you don’t know about the failed kendrake alliance huh?
Oh trust me I know
Pop is propped up by manic fans and radio
Mindless programming music
Saying this in defense of $$$4U is genuinely hilarious
you don’t know about the failed kendrake alliance huh?
That s*** lasted 40 minutes
It’s like asking why an Earl album didn’t go #1
off topic but Mr Morale was definitely inspired by Some Rap Songs
This is really gonna be her biggest album yet. And to think I believed she peaked with her debut album
Those DSP genre labels don’t mean a damn thing. You’re deaf if you think an album like Dawn FM is an R&B album
Nah just an idiot
goes deeper than 2022
https://www.kanyetothe.com/threads/when-shit-hit-the-fan-is-you-still-a-fan-rip-team-kendrick.3099793/
So that’s what got this party started huh
you don’t know about the failed kendrake alliance huh?
Haha I truly don’t
off topic but Mr Morale was definitely inspired by Some Rap Songs
He did say Earl was one of his favorites
This is really gonna be her biggest album yet. And to think I believed she peaked with her debut album
Billie got robbed and I'm still mad about it
Those DSP genre labels don’t mean a damn thing. You’re deaf if you think an album like Dawn FM is an R&B album
Pop is right there. Why didn't The Weeknd pick that as his genre? You don't get to tell an artist how to categorize their own music btw.
Billie got robbed and I'm still mad about it
She definitely did but she'll be back.
only time ive seen kendrick/drake fans aligned here is when people try to put Cole in the big 3
Making any music with PartyNextDoor, one of the worst artists across any medium in human history, is a poor decision
Nah you cooked fr with this
TheGreatLowball when her lowball worked out in her favor
she was ready to say $$$4u was a supreme over performance but now ducks with the protection of “this was always my projection”
Kroniic logic:
Your prediction was too spot on!
That guy is such a moron. I usually get annoyed with dumb people but I love seeing him embarrass himself with his contradictory arguments
He is trying his hardest as well but he still fails lmao. Bless him
The only ones that are dumb and contradictory are y’all. I never once claimed The Weeknd was making R&B music
Pop is right there. Why didn't The Weeknd pick that as his genre? You don't get to tell an artist how to categorize their own music btw.
Yeah and they can’t tell us how to categorize it either lol
So that’s what got this party started huh
yes. i joined the old forum in 2014 so i remember all of the arguments vividly. Kendrick got all the accolades but he never sold more than Drake so Drake stans used that against him for why he couldn't be #1.
You didn’t mean this…
If I had to pick between only listening to Drake, or listening to 1 PND song for every 100 songs I hear, call me Bow From The Six
Well, the Weeknd thinks he does R&B. Hence why ALL his albums are categorized as R&B/Soul albums.
Yeah it’s definitely him and not the label choosing it
Same way SZA said she doesn’t agree with SOS being called an R&B album but it’s still labeled as such on DSPs
