They’re both A list artists. If the numbers are a colossal flop in all angles Weeknd shouldn’t have any issues outdoing them…. Unless his album is also lmao.

They’re both A list artists… yet The Weeknd has NEVER done more than 163K streaming in a single week for one album.

How are you not understanding that everything is relative and all artists can’t be judged on the same scale.

130K in streaming is pretty average for The Weeknd

130K in streaming for Drake or Taylor Swift would be an absolute disaster

And a comeback album after 4 years should’ve been the setup to do much more

Also wanna see the mental gymnastics he does to justify going from 250k to 88k being freefalling but 500k to 58k not

    *246k to 119k to 88k (projected).

HUT went from 490.5k to 101k to 58k.

As a huge Drake fan the seamless transition from hating on Kendrick to Weeknd because Kendrick’s numbers can’t be attacked anymore has been very interesting

So a Drake x PND album should not be expected to do Drake solo rap album numbers right?

    Where The Weeknd go?

Not even a single new song from his album is top 100 on Spotify right now

Just the Carti song that was already released pre-album.

First new album in 4 years. This is good standing “relatively” apparently.

It’s funny how y’all made sure to include the pure sales context when discussing the first week numbers, but are now leaving them out when discussing the following week numbers.

    Hurry Up Tomorrow Numbers:
    First Week - 490K / 359K Pure Sales / 130K Streaming Sales
    Second Week - 101K / 27K Pure Sales / 74K Streaming Sales
    Third Week - 58K / 10K Pure Sales / 48K Streaming Sales
    Fourth Week - 50K / 7K Pure Sales / 43K Streaming Sales

    $ome $exy $ongs 4 U Numbers:
    First Week - 246K / 27K Pure Sales / 219K Streaming Sales
    Second Week - 119K / 2K Pure Sales / 117K Streaming Sales

We all know that pure sales heavily peak in the first week for any artist. Nobody is expecting an artist to continue to move 100K+ in pure sales week after week. The streaming numbers should be the focus of the longterm performance.

With that being said, Hurry Up Tomorrow had a 43% drop in streams from its First Week to its Second Week. $$$4U had a 47% drop.

From the First to Third Week, HUT had a 63% drop in streams, and as of right now, $$$4U is projected to have a 60% drop.

So why did Beyonce & Jay-Z collaboration album do lower than all of their solo albums?

I mean his one fan is the loudest in this thread begging for some replies cause his life sucks.

If you go through the last 200 pages I’m sure he has at least 1 post on 90% of them.

Maybe because it surprise released on a Saturday night and was exclusive to Tidal for its first two days of release?

Keep in mind, The Weeknd discussion ITT right now started because you randomly decided to quote a week old post of mine unprovoked:

Literally nobody was talking about The Weeknd

    168K streaming vs. 123K streaming

A 45K difference makes the latter “minuscule”?

Yes. EIL actually did get released on Spotify & Apple first week unlike Lemonade.

It did less streams on all services than Lemonade did on one irrelevant service.
