Doechii on a trajectory to becoming “That Guy” for this era

I don’t think people realize she’s exactly the rapper everyone has been asking for. It’s been over 50 years at this point people gotta accept the next chosen one probably a woman IMO listen to her music and you’ll understand why people are excited about her. And obviously her team is doing an insanely good job

Nah she will be gone in a few months

Nah she will be gone in a few months

We got more lyricists putting up better numbers right now than at any point in the last couple years. That this is anything but a reason to celebrate is crazy to me

I think the main problem is that it is much harder for new artists to pursue their careers long-term. She's a moment now but I don't think she will be "big" in 1-2 years unfortunately but she definitely has her fanbase now and thats great

She’s top line at Glastonbury in June, billed above Deftones, Jorja Smith, Gracie Abrams, and a bunch of other big names. She’s not going anywhere

  • Rich Flex Day 21 1.63m
    Nokia Day 21 1.33m
    Jimmy Cooks Day 21 1.189m

gap continuing to grow , ngl i thought jimmy cooks was bigger than that

should be outstreaming rich flex each day within 2 weeks

I’ve been saying this, she is a generational talent who can make mass appealing music.

She is a combination of Jannelle Monae, Missy and Nicki with great work ethic and attention to her craft.

I can see her trying to play both sides like Kendrick with “premium” albums that usually have hits on them and sometimes megahits. Looks like she’s running some version of his blueprint now tbh

I feel like Doechii has existed in the periphery for so much of this decade that there’s reason to think she has real sticking power. Her last really big moment before this was What It Is wasn’t it? That was already like 2-3 years ago.

I mean that she wont score another hit in the future this big lol of course she's headlining right now because she's hot

Too early to say imo. It all depends on her debut album. She has the talent too last

“how is she getting all this attention suddenly?!”

ppl have been asking for a beautiful, undeniably talented dark skinned female rap star for decades. starting to think most of her detractors are just upset that someone like that blew up in the first place

I’m saying! She’s an EXCELLENT representative of the genre man I respect the female rappers who came up in the late ‘10s and early ‘20s because it was an experimental era but Doechii is really better than all of them and is gonna have a better career too.

She’ll go on to be pretty influential herself too

  • of the 300+ songs this guy has dropped in the streaming era, this looks like the most stable one he has ever dropped

"lyricists" but I think she will be bigger outside the US and slowly fade away in the US after her debut album era ends

Yeah with 1 song though, I just checked and on that day she only had 1 song in the top 200

I kinda think its more impressive to have 4

edit: as of yesterday she has 5
