Such a great hook, Drake reused it during the beef

Me neither but my point is that song didn’t pop bc of Drake at all

    Yes

KTT the only place that’ll try to tell you people flocked to the song for the random Florence and the machines interpolation on the unnecessary beat switch

    Gtfoh

  • Small Town Fame - melodic rap.
    Brian Steel - melodic rap.
    Nokia - melodic rap.
Gimme a Hug - melodic rap song that ends with Drake singing along to an R&B sample.
    Glorious - melodic rap.

Drake raps on 5/19 songs on the album he appears on and the songs he raps on are all melodic rap songs.

With the exception of Meet Your Padre and Die Trying (which he also only sings on), every other song he appears on is an R&B cut. Deeper and Pimmie's Dilemma are non-Drake songs but they're R&B cuts as well.

So yes, if 3/4 of an album is straight-up singing, the album doesn't count as a rap album. It's an R&B album.

This is a stupid post because the song doesn't get as big as it did without Drake lmao.

His name is still what carried the song lmao.

Die Trying and Meet Your Padre, two non-R&B songs, brings the total to 7/21

An entire third of the album is not R&B.

There’s a very similar ratio of Rap to R&B on For All The Dogs, yet y’all consider that a rap album

    Make it make sense

You can argue it popped bc it was a highlight on a Drake album so a lot of eyes were on it but there’s also the fact that most uses of the song on socials skip his part entirely

No one listens to that song for Drake, they mainly come for the hook and up tempo beat

As a huge drake fan that’s more of a club vibe, bars are singing s*** like sweet Caroline
