    day 26
    Nokia 1.42m
    Jimmy Cooks 1.06m

is the gap big enough yet @fader

only 200k away from rich flex now, 7 days ago it was 500k

this is now outstreaming anything from FATD/HNVM/CLB, drake's biggest hit in almost 7 years i think. even outstreaming Nonstop

    Like clockwork

  • FlukiestFaun

If Carti is actually dropping tomorrow, my prediction is 200k first week, might be overestimating but whatever.

    25-35k in pure sales
    150-175k in streaming

He’s doing WAY more than 35K in pure sales. All of the bundles on his web store are completely sold out and have been for months.

There will be more merch that drops when the actual album releases as well. I think he’s locked to clear 100K with pure sales alone

Carti really don’t got buzz like that rn tbh

    ???

This album is extremely anticipated, and he got the biggest DSP on the planet directly promoting it for him.

It’s also not a surprise drop, people been waiting for this for years

  • FlukiestFaun

lol We Don't Trust You did 250K with no sales and that had LIKE THAT + Type S***...

Kendrick, the biggest rapper in the world at the moment did 315k AND he dropped a day late... carti not touching no 300k lmao

You’re forgetting they did that WITHOUT pure sales.

Carti has pure sales supporting his total. Everything on his website has been sold out for months, plus it’s all but guaranteed that there will be more merch bundles available when the album releases

Do you really think someone is going to wake up everyday to talk about sales and charts of a country they don't even live in? Be reasonable

this album has eternal atake/astroworld levels of anticipation, it’s getting 400 million + streams first week

    Honestly not far off

If we’re excluding Mr. Morale as it was Kendrick’s return, this definitely feels like the most anticipated rap release since Eternal Atake. Could throw UTOPIA in there as well.

GNX was heavily anticipated too, but we literally didn’t know a single thing about it until it released

WLR had all the hype in the world and it barely did 100k fw lol

Carti doesn’t have pull like that outside of his cult fanbase

Y’all are forgetting that he’s only grown since WLR.

Whole Lotta Red was basically his first “mainstream” album. That was his introduction to the masses. His hype has like tripled since then.

He had numerous hit singles in 2024, which is the first year he’s ever really had like successful singles, he’s always been more of an album artist

The numerous hits he had last year were on other people’s songs lol and his only single from I AM MUSIC came and went

And how is WLR, Carti’s first mainstream album when Die Lit basically had the same amount of praise and buzz years earlier?

And even if WLR is Carti’s first “mainstream” album, it only reached like people in their early 20s and younger, nobody above that cares about that album

  • I think he has already sold 100k+ with the merch bundles, I am guessing 300kish total?

    Exactly

Carti gets the 2018 Drake type promo from Spotify right now

how is this a surprise when people have been preordering the album for months and months and tonight was the last time to drop before getting refund.

The single came and went because this song got leaked like years ago

Carti wasn‘t even that huge when WLR came out but the reaction from the mainstream made him way bigger immediately

He‘s like 100 times bigger now with multiple hits since WLR and people are more open for his type of music these days. It‘s not that deep

“Other people’s songs” but it’s entirely arguable that HE was the reason all of those songs were hits.

CARNIVAL, Type S***, and Timeless are most likely not hit records without his contributions to them.

Die Lit was still extremely niche to online rap circles, it wasn’t as hotly anticipated as WLR was or I Am Music has been.

Sure, ALL RED did come and go, but it did also leak ages ago, and Carti has never really been a singles artist. The biggest songs on Self-Titled and Die Lit didn’t release as singles before those projects. @ MEH was the lead single for WLR and flopped, then the album dropped without any singles at all and Sky became the big song.

I’m 100% positive there will be another big record on I Am Music, and I wouldn’t be surprised if ALL RED isn’t even on the album at all

  • Carti and Travis are both similar in the way that they’ve never been singles artists. They drop singles that are supposed to be the leads for their projects, and they never make noise. Antidote wasn’t even supposed to be on Rodeo. Butterfly Effect was released in a 3-pack of throwaways it that ended up gaining steam. K-Pop was an utter failure.

Then they release heavily anticipated albums and the audiences chooses what the hit is.

I’m not sure what it is about them two specifically but they both have that effect

It‘s like saying Travis is going to flop because most of his singles are kinda flopping all the time (4X4 as a recent example)

They need to understand that most rap artists are album artists and the usual rap listener loves listening to full projects

  • Crazy how he’s about to 250-300K off the back of one of the worst rollouts in history. Even more if it’s as impactful on release as WLR ended up being over time

I think Young Thug fits this category as well, he’s never been a singles artist. Post-EVOL Future as well to a certain extent

Thug albums used to flop really hard except for a couple singles tbh.

only 4 rappers did over 400 million streams in a week and thats Drake, Lil Wayne, Juice after he died and Lil Uzi. Idk if Carti will do that.
