Nothing wrong with calling albums trash if thats how you feel.
SFG to Views run was fire. After that s*** been downhill and I've given all albums benefit of the doubt when they came out but with each drop, my I have less hope. I went to all the tours since then (mostly because of legacy songs). In the end it's music.
I expected the quality to be consistent but for me it hasn't. Same s*** with Cole.
I expect different level of quality from different artists. The same album can come from JID and I will think it's solid but if the same quality came from Kendrick, I would call it trash because I have different expectations for different artists.
Pick a side and call every single release of the other side garbage. This the ktt way you see
It charted for 20 weeks before going recurrent. How is it not a hit?
Goalposts
I used to agree w/ this but we're so starved for actual good music now that it doesn't apply for me anymore
a below par Drake album is still almost guaranteed to be a top 3 pop rap album of the year, so is a below par kendrick/cole album
and that's kinda sad
Yeah, I just naturally shifted towards listening to less newer projects and revisiting older projects due to this.
I used to stay up to listen to new projects from a lot of artists but that interest has slowly dwindled. I can wait now and have no problem with it.

Song that nobody remembers that debut-peaked at #2 and went recurrent after less than half a year from the biggest artist on streaming ever, is somehow a hit?
The bar is literally on the floor
Guaranteed he one of your most listened to artist this decade “with 5 duds”
You just talk for the sake of talking let’s be very real
When will y’all learn that you can still listen to an artist while acknowledging that their recent output has been subpar overall. This isn’t the gotcha y’all think it is

Also I re read my comment and never said they were all duds like he was implying. He was just being a Karen lol I’ve always showed Her Loss love
pride having so much more streams than loyalty is crazy to me

https://twitter.com/hiphopalldayy/status/1911807719390032166Well, Loyalty is a bad song. Most of Kendricks worst songs are on DAMN.

I think it’s a great album but I’d probably rank it 5th from his discography.
For me Tpab/Gkmc are tier above.

His worst major release for me. The best and worst of Kendrick. High highs(Fear, Feel, Lust) and the lowest of lows(Loyalty, Love, God).

The crazy thing is people can argue for it to be his best/their fav album. We are judging him against his own output but s*** is so consistent it’s crazy.

b**** dont kill my vibe, dna, family ties, pray for me, kings dead, new freezer. Are now no longer hits.
I don’t think even Drake remembers that Search & Rescue exists
Besides performing it on the two tours following its release?
I love hit records that the GP stops listening to after 5 months
so all the stars pre superbowl was not a hit 🌚
b**** dont kill my vibe, dna, family ties, pray for me, kings dead, new freezer. Are now no longer hits.
B****, Don’t Kill My Vibe released when Obama was still in office
Search & Rescue has 395M Spotify streams
DNA has 1.3B
Pray For Me has 1B
Family Ties has 995M
Nigga brought up a Rich the Kid single to defend a Drake song that everyone forgot about, the fall from grace has been astronomical
so all the stars pre superbowl was not a hit 🌚
2 billion streams btw
You have mental illness if you think that Search & Rescue and All the Stars are anywhere near the same level
Besides performing it on the two tours following its release?
You call that performing?
Let’s live in 2025. Drake has a solo hit.
Some other Canadians released entirely new solo albums and have zero solo hits.
Let’s live in 2025. Some Canadians can sell out stadiums in their sleep while others have to cancel Australian arena dates.
