I’m not denying it’s a hit just cause i haven’t heard it tho that’s the difference
If you can admit to barely having heard a song that’s been #1 for 10+ weeks, imagine how many people have barely heard songs like Toosie Slide, What’s Next, Slime You Out, Way 2 Sexy, First Person Shooter, and Jimmy Cooks, which were all #1 for a combined SIX weeks
This what people mean when they say Drake hasn’t had a true hit record since 2018

Again just because i don’t hear it doesn’t mean it’s not a hit, denying it would be stupid
So you hear the song?
Snippets here and there sure but not like played in full anywhere

I don't know why they're mad when we say we haven't heard the song being played everywhere. First off, it's not the kind of song one would play in clubs or bars but even more than that, it's success seems to be mainly focused on radio and on TikTok.
I wouldn't even attribute that to just Luther. Most of the hits we've gotten this decade aren't like the hits from the 2010s or the 2000s. The last true hit that felt like a cultural staple was Old Town Road. Every hit since then has felt weird. They're huge on the charts but aren't having the same motion when you go out and about in the real world. You have songs by Harry Styles, Morgan Wallen, Shaboozey, etc spending 10+ weeks at #1 but never having the cultural significance that reflects that kind of chart success. That simply wasn't a thing in the 2010s. The #1 song back then FELT like the #1 song because it was quite literally inescapable.
I won't argue with anyone who says that none of Drake's hits this decade have had the cultural impact of his past hits because that would be accurate lol.
Me not hearing songs a ton in the real world is not a diss lol i have lived in Boston for the last 4 years, it’s not exactly the rap/r&b hotspot of the world

Respectfully the hit you are describing is not like us.

Also, not hearing the songs everywhere doesn't mean it's not a hit. Hit songs today simply aren't the way they used to be 10-20 years ago. Everything is fragmented now.

There are definitely a few songs this decade that have been everywhere. You’re just acting like there are none because Drake doesn’t have any
Also, there are songs that never hit #1 or even reach the top 10 that feel like bigger hits than songs that did. It all depends at the end of the day.
it’s been 3 hours since i saw the last wall of text
mowed my entire lawn
came in the thread

Hotline bling felt like the biggest song of all time at one point and peaked at 2 lol

Well, it wasn't the biggest song then!
Hotline bling felt like the biggest song of all time at one point and peaked at 2 lol
I could say the same about Best I Ever Had.
Hotline bling felt like the biggest song of all time at one point and peaked at 2 lol
But every time we talk about big songs on here y’all dismiss them because they didn’t go #1 for x amount of weeks
Y’all stay moving goalposts man
