It is actually mind boggling that on Kendrick Lamars biggest year of his career he is still selling less than Drake with Drake being the #1 Selling artist of the year so far. Its crazy.

Same cert as Scorpion with a box set of live tour performances that were sold on his website and never charted

I honestly think he and his team just straight up bought copies with that one. RIAA allows as it as Jay-Z & Rihanna have gone Platinum from Samsung buying copies and then handing them out as free downloads.

Almost all his certs this century are just box sets where an album has like 5 CDs and went 5x Platinum by shipping 1 million or something similar

It did chart, just didn’t chart high. Who cares if they were sold on his website?

Funny how y’all will call out certain artists for exploiting loopholes and not others, such as mentioning an album like Scorpion when complaining about double albums

It didn’t chart during release. A special version charted at #113 with 9,000 copies sold a year later.

Going 7x Platinum with a random 2019 live album nobody has heard of deserves to be called out wtf lmao.

    Stfu and stop crying.

She popped out when I went to see majid jordan last year. She’s got a really great voice. Especially live and her music is dope too, great vibes. OVO should invest a lot in her

kanye and em rly gonna be top 5 biggest until like 2045

    Yeah.

I know KTT likes to call them as well as Wayne washed every 5 seconds but these 2 are middle aged men still competing with the youngins on streaming.

That's impressive af even if their best years are behind them.

the whole list is pretty much middle aged men. Travis the youngest at the top being 34

This why your dumbass should stop trying to doubt me . Further research and I was able to see he literally had the album mass bought and given away for free as I suggested His team literally organized a giveaway similar to Jay/Rih’s Samsung deal

And no this isn’t even tour bundling which required a ticket purchase. It just was a free download available to anyone used to fake the album going 7x Platinum.

RIAA unlike Billboard/Luminate is way easier to game cause sales certifications are based on shipments (and now including streaming).

Also they count how many discs are apart of an album. So a 3 disc album would count as 3 sales.

Garth was definitely huge and the biggest male artist of the 90s, but his RIAA certs are hella inflated with multi-discs, discontinued club sales, etc. Most of his certifications are ridiculous compared to actual sales.

He made it a personal goal to become the highest certified artist by any means necessary.

He recently had a 2018 live tour album that is certified 7x Platinum yet never charted.

RIAA counts jayz million copies that he bundles with brand deals to.

They count damn near anything tbh lol. Also their auditing process kinda shady.

When Thriller got surpassed as the top certified album by Eagles Greatest Hit album they also got exposed for allowing borderline fraudulent sales for that Eagles album lol

Lol I did not mean die irl i just mean his streaming numbers. People will legit stop playing his old classics cause of his nazi ways

    I mean...I can see that.

But I think we have to put things in perspective here.

Em, Ye, and Wayne are deadass the ONLY veteran rappers who debuted before 2009 putting up these type of numbers.

Their actual peers like 50, Game, TI, Luda, Jeezy, Nelly, Camron, etc. could only dream of putting up numbers like that on streaming.

Also, OG's like Jay, Nas, Snoop, Cube, etc. aren't putting up these numbers.

Kanye may stagnate or even fall off in the streaming department but literally the only peers competing with him are Em and Wayne. If that's the bar, then he really isn't going to be impacted.

Also, people still listen to Ye's music as a guilty pleasure even among Gen Z. I know because I've seen it. Got some young cousins who will clown Ye for the coonery but still have Can't Tell Me Nothin and Father Stretch My Hands on their Spotify playlists.

Em, Ye and Wayne’s classic verses share one set of traits the other names don’t: witty, humorous, easy to rap along with for any age - all at once. Their delivery is also similarly a balance between aspirational macho and passionately youthful, the latter of which the three also possess more than their peers who lean much more in the former direction

And it explains why they have a grip on the youth across every platform. To the point it’s expectedly anecdotal, ie your example with your cousins
