You should’ve said streaming tbh. Tik Tokers have no motion tbh. They got a lot of views but they are essentially just models.
The real cultural impact is in streaming. AMP, Speed, XQC, Adin, plaqueboymax, etc
These are people you can actually argue have encroached on a lot of artists spaces in the cultural landscape
“Cultural impact” their trends come and go man. Nobody will care about a Kai Cenat stream in 10 years. They’re the 2020s version of Ryan Seacrest, they don’t actually create anything, they’re just personalities
I’m glad you’re admitting that you don’t actually care about music (or anything, really) unless it feels like you’re a part of something larger
Makes sense why you went from a soulless Bad Bunny d***sucker to a Papi’s Angel in the span of a couple months
Niggas seriously exposing themselves as just viewing music as a commodity. It’s legitimately insane
Music will exist for as long as humans exist. It will peak and valley, but it will never die.
Streaming is just another internet fad that will become irrelevant as soon as the next fad pops up.
I would bet money that people at large won’t care about streaming as much as they do now as early as 2035

But what is the next step after streaming

That aint me tbh, never liked bad bunny's music or persona
always been a papi's angel though, of course. Ye & Drake will always be my goats

The cultural impact:

Your pop takes are so s***.
And why are you comparing an artist to streamers
Because the point is that streaming and tiktok are platforms that didn't exist anywhere near like this 10 years ago.
My opinion is basically that those two things +(plus youtube) have stolen a lot of attention away from music. Attention is completely limited. 16 year old kids looked up to musicians mostly in the 80s/90s/00s/10s. But now they're looking up to streamers.
21 year old women were looking up to the latest hot popstar. Now they're looking up to all these vloggers and tiktok influencers.
this has had a big negative impact on the cultural impact that music has on society
Maybe the sad truth is most people are like mangotflu and depend on the crop of mainstream artists at the top to deliver music, and music as a whole just doesn’t exist to them outside of hits and superstars
Mainstream artists gotta step it up tho
You're being like one of those people that say film hasn't died, you're just not watching (insert list of random niche independent films)
This happened to film & it's now happening to music. What young people are growing up giving a f*** about filmstars and tvstars ? that s*** completely died.

???
There are plenty of younger actors and actresses that Gen Z completely adores lmao what
In 2025, Tate scored her first #1 song and #1 album and is currently on a worldwide arena tour. Regardless of what you think of her, people are tuned in and do care.
Streamers have really only effected B-list rappers. Instead of kids listening to Lil Baby and YB they'd rather watch Kai Cenat get sturdy on stream
#1 song
#1 album
yet people barely give a f*** about her as a celebrity
& that is a problem. it's happening with many artists. Hits still exist, the problem isn't really that there's a lack of hits. People just don't have as much of a reason to care past the initial listen of the song anymore
???

Like who? Timothee & Sydney? lmao.
It's absolutely nothing compared to how big moviestars were in the 90s/00s etc. Like comparing Drake to Nav

The problem is that there aren’t many captivating young acts in music that are capturing the mainstream. It has nothing to do with streaming and TikTok.

How many years are you guys gonna keep saying that? it has been damn 7 years since you've had an artist capture that audience
it's not happening because young audiences now need a LOT more to be captivated, because of the "new" s*** they have access to.
it will happen eventually, but it'll be an artist that has crossover into the streaming/vlog world

Yes because the medium has changed and Marvel completely transformed the industry in to where people value IP more than star power now. But even that is slowly starting to revert back

Even Marvel were pushing a few of their stars insanely hard and seriously it feels like people barely care about Tom Holland and Zendaya, and all the others as celebrities

One of the 3 zendaya stans is literally itt btw

Yes because people care more about IP than stars following the Marvel boom. I just explained that

Sabrina Carpenter just captured the mainstream literally one year ago what are you talking about

this has been an issue with films since basically the early 2000s at this point
it & music just can't compete with stuff like streaming due to the personal access a viewer gets to a streamer, which is sad

Whatever happened to those d'amelio what's their names...the ones on tik Tok who were famous for no reason

No it has not
The IP obsession didn’t start until the mid-2010s
In the 2000s there were plenty of smaller budget, original films that were successful
Why do so many of y’all in here talk about film without absolutely zero knowledge about it whatsoever

I'm talking about stars
the 2000s (especially later) didn't really spawn many global superstars
