So??? It sold 400K+ first week with no bundles. I would say it was a commercially successful release and a blockbuster album.
It was not. People still listen to blockbuster albums years after they release.
breaking news fans of an artist want more music
Yeah, that’s definitely what he meant
Let that clown remain delusional. I guess the only measurement of success now is how well an album performs on Spotify alone lmao.
For All the Dogs debuted with 400k units, scored 2 #1 hits and 7 top 10 hits and has sold over 3M units but that's not a success to some.
I never said it wasn’t a success, I said it wasn’t blockbuster.
The same app y’all d***ride for daily streams when it benefits Drake y’all choose to ignore when someone points out that a Weeknd flop album has more total streams than a “blockbuster Drake album” on the same app

Maybe our definition of blockbuster is just different then
fatd has sold like 4m units in the US alone man
Less than 4 billion streams though... which was part of your point
FATD will be outstreamed by gnx within the year and outsold within 2
So is kendrick flopping or was fatd a blockbuster?
Decide
You guys are comparing GNX like its some regular kendrick album lmao. The beef effect wears off after this album. His next won’t do NEAR what GNX is doing. He came off of the biggest publicity rap beef of all time and had the PERFECT rollout. And its getting to FATD and CLB numbers sure 👍 how amazing!
u dont think it makes it even worse that in the same amount of time he had this #1 song for 13 weeks post superbowl, he also lost 50% of his daily streams even with the Luther boost
imagine what his daily streams looked llke if Luther didnt go on that run jheeeeze
either way in a few more weeks he wont even be the 2nd most streamed daily at this rate with trav and kanye about to be out streaming him
Kendrick wouldn’t be SNIFFING a quarter of this success without Drake stepping in the ring with him lmao. But they’ll deny it 🤣🤣🤣

I might agree with this if GNX was seen as a disappointment. If Kendrick goes in a mainstream direction again he can easily repeat the success of GNX. Yall stay talking about him like he was Freddie Gibbs tier before the beef

Dude talking like DAMN didn’t do 600k fw

And half of that was bundles lol..
And half of that was bundles lol..
Yes, Fans buying physicals
I know that’s unheard of in the Drake fan base

Oh no. A drake album being outsold by another drake album

GNX is an anomaly. It's off of Kendrick winning a high-profile and getting the most publicity he's ever gotten. It's his most successful album so far. He won't have that perform storm of events the next time he drops an album.

Can’t wait to quote this years later when he drops again.

Literally all of this is untrue... damn and gkmc exist

And none of them did what GNX has done so my point is proven. If Kendrick dropped an album without the clout that came with beefing with Drake everything else that happened in 2024 and had the success he's currently had with GNX then I wouldn't say this lol.
The whole reason why he started up the beef with Drake again out of nowhere was for this very reason.

GKMC is the longest charting rap album of all time and DAMN. has a double diamond single which Drake doesn't even have.
GNX is only shaping up to be the most successful album of THIS decade so far.

Luther is Kendrick's biggest hit ever.
The combination of Luther, Peekaboo, TV Off and Squabble Up are the biggest combination of hits on a Kendrick album ever.
Despite debuting with about half the amount of units DAMN debuted with, GNX is on pace to move as many units as DAMN did in 13 months (3M+), maybe even more.
DAMN spent 4 weeks at #1, 23 weeks in the top 5 and 35 weeks in the top 10. GNX so far has spent 3 weeks at #1, 26 weeks in the top 5 and 30 weeks in the top 10 and will very likely end up spending more weeks in the top 10 than DAMN ever did.
The only thing left to see is if it ages as well as DAMN did. If that happens (which I believe it will), it'll 100% become his biggest album ever and it'll achieve that even quicker than DAMN did.
It's stupid to act like Drake/the beef didn't benefit Kendrick and the success he's enjoying now. That man was cold as ice after dropping the Mr. Morale album. Nothing was sticking or working commercially and it wasn't because of a lack of trying on his part. All I'm saying is that the perfect storm of events that led to him enjoying the success he'd never seen in his career before now won't be there the next time he drops an album. I don't think that's unreasonable to say.
Obviously he's still one of the biggest rappers ever. No one is taking that away from him.

You are quite literally taking that away from him by posturing like GNX is his first successful album and it’s solely because of Drake.
He has the longest charting rap album of all time in GKMC, and DAMN. has some of the biggest rap singles ever released and was a commercial blockbuster. That’s not even mentioning the Black Panther Soundtrack which was successful as well and spawned a major single.
When Kendrick chooses to go commercial, he’s one of the biggest artists on the planet.
One time is a fluke. Two times is luck. Three times and beyond is undeniable.
