Because it was an indicator of regression and was worse than the last 3 albums that came before it (counting if you’re reading this)

But looking at it in hindsight…. It’s the best album he has dropped from 2016-2025…. The beginning of the end.

    Some fantastic tracks on it

    Hotline bling
    Controlla
    Too good
    Feel no ways
    Child’s play
    One dance
    Hype

But as an album as a whole to me it was very lacking. But like I said with hindsight of his discography since I’ve grown to appreciate it

It clearly wasn't that bad because before 2 years after its release, people were already doing a 180° turn on the album.

What happened with the album is what happens with all of Drake's music: people go into it with a set mind on what the music MUST be and when it doesn't turn out to be that, they call it trash, as opposed to how people approach the music of most other artists, which is judging it on its own merit and deciding if it's good and going from there.

Drake does what 99% of all artists do to promote their songs:

    • release song.
    • service song to radio.
    • release music video.

Not many artists are going on full promo runs for each single, especially not artists in Drake's league, so what are y'all saying?

All of the biggest songs of the past two years involved heavy promotional runs

  • Jul 28, 2025

Drake's music doesn't age well as much as people get their heads out of their own asses and stop being upset that he didn't make songs about what they wanted him to make songs about.

That second paragraph is very real to be honest people get disappointed with what it isn’t rather than appreciating what it is.

Still believe nothing was the same, take care, and if you’re reading this way better. But like I said over time I’ve come to appreciate it for what it is and at this point it’s in the higher end of my fav drake albums discography rankings cause the release since I believe are worse.

Fr. It’s such an intriguing album to judge in his discography.

At the time, it was easily his weakest project since Thank Me Later. Didn’t hold a candle to the near flawless run of Take Care-Nothing Was the Same-If You’re Reading This.

But then when you factor in every project he’s dropped since Views, it looks like an absolute masterpiece in comparison

You asked me how he could promote his music....?

When you said stories - I assumed it was on the app based on music, and not the boomer app.

I'm sure those 24-hour stories Drake reposted while taking a s*** were really helpful in Nokia's success

    1. TikTok isn't based on music

    2. When did IG become the boomer app lmao

Drake stans didn't realize how good they had it when Views was considered his "worst album" until Scorpion, CLB, & FATD. That s*** is literally Illmatic when stacked against those albums

Most virality comes because of the music on TikTok they literally have a TikTok chart now

IG been the boomer app since TikTok peaked a few years ago if not a little bit before that

The only way to appreciate any art is to meet it at face value. Take it for what it is, not what you wish it was. Even I have had to learn this over the years. When most people say something has grown on them, what's really happened is that they've gotten out of their own way and are now more open to appreciating said thing for what it is.

TikTok is the #1 determinant of music that’s either popular or blowing up according to Luminate…lol. 84% of the songs that charted had a TikTok trend attached to it last year

62% of TikTok users spend more money on merch than the average music fan. 42% of users spend more time listening to music than the average music listener

artists who build good tiktok followings see their weekly listeners increase by 11% weekly versus artists who don’t

TikTok literally blew up because of music trends coming out of Asia until this day it is a social music sharing app first that was rebranded, just ask Nicki what it did for her and her career

Also drakes music ages so well so many times you hear someone who hasn’t even experienced anything that could allow them to enjoy a certain drake song then they live life and 10 years later they get it lmfao same exact s*** with hov

I know niggas be finna cry happy tears when they see a bad pitchfork review for Drake Niggas said CLB was unlistenable I can’t take you niggas seriously anymore. And I promise you I got better taste than all of these bad built no swag having kbots
