Also, i have to say that being the most streamed artist in the most popular streaming platform means SOMETHING, there is no way y'all can brush it off like its a little thing.
Like for me thats the most important data out there, like he is number one in the site where people actually are listening to music.

Dont know if this is accurate, but he is also a top artist in Youtube, also one of the top choices people are listening to music
Young boy is actually irrelevant that's crazy
ah yes because Kanye is the 3rd biggest artist in the world
I don't think Bad Bunny is bigger than any of Drake, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Justin Bieber, Adele, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar or The Weeknd.
then you also have arguable ones like BTS, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eillish, Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Kanye West
Kendrick isnt that big like yall think he is
??????
So u telling me the 100 million streams doesnt mean anything? Because thats what u tryna convey with what u said
Also there is no f***ing way u are telling me Doja Cat, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar and Dua Lipa are even arguable, there is not even a debate when talking about global popularity. Maybe Post Malone years ago but for sure not in 2022.
I would say he is even bigger than some of the others u mentioned, but i can see the argument.
Of course it means something, but Kanye West did the same with Donda yet Kanye hasn't had a giant album or even a giant hit in about 10 years now, there's so many artists which have sold way more albums than him since 2012. Donda right now is barely plat even though it did 100m first week.... last week it got outsold by Rod Wave's Soulfly & Polo G's Hall of Fame...
Post Malone has 2 albums in Spotify's top streamed albums of all time at #2 and #4 and another at #13th. Bad Bunny's highest is #19 and then #62 #63. Sure he hasn't dropped in 2-3 years but next month he'll probably be insane.
Travis Scott probably lost a lot of popularity after the incident but Astroworld was bigger globally than any Bad bunny album. Same with DAMN by Kendrick, I guarantee you that album has sold waaay more units than any Bad Bunny album, it's at like 6m units in the US alone.
Dua Lipa is also insanely huge I don't understand fading her, she was absolutely everywhere the last 2 years and has the 3rd and 7th most streamed albums on Spotify
Also, i have to say that being the most streamed artist in the most popular streaming platform means SOMETHING, there is no way y'all can brush it off like its a little thing.

this is the issue w/ streaming numbers sadly, YouTube numbers are much easier to get than Spotify/AM numbers which means they aren't comparable. it's why every certification organisation like riaa/billboard weight them entirely differently. Billboard counts 1 spotify stream as 3 youtube streams.
a lot of big artists/labels avoid releasing their music on YouTube because of it, since they want people to listen on Spotify/AM instead since it counts for more
it does make a lot of artists look bigger/smaller than they are... but there's a reason the artists receiving the biggest deals are artists like Drake, Taylor Swift & Adele and not these latin artists/bts etc
Kendrick isnt that big like yall think he is
6m units in the US alone isn't big? what? only like 3 artists have done that in the last 10 years

I'm talking about ww, not in the US
Of course he's big in the US but thats pretty much it

I mean isn't that the case with Bad Bunny? I'v rarely hear of anyone in Europe talk about him

Spain (biggest artist also by far here)
Portugal
Europe has lots of spanish (outside of Spain)/latin people also, especially in central/southern europe... he might not selling that much in these countries except Spain and maybe Portugal but he's definitely well known
He's catching up to be one of the biggest megastars. In 2020 he was "only" big on Spotify and YouTube. Right now he's also dominating AM and got even bigger on Spotify and YouTube
I don't see it happening with other latin artists tho. The only thing Bad Bunny is missing currently are more merchandise, physical CDs and probably more promo in general

I believe you but it's actually hella weird looking at the spotify charts for Portugal spotifycharts.com/regional/pt/daily/2022-05-06
highest bad bunny songs are #46 and #167, it must be bugged. UK is similar spotifycharts.com/regional/gb/daily/2022-05-06 there's Jack Harlow songs in the top 20 but 0 Bad Bunny songs in the top 200

It’s indeed strange for Portugal. I was there a few times and I always heard Bad Bunny, he’s definitely well known there
UK was obvious like, they’re barely listening other music besides of english music. Maybe it’ll change in the future. People love Bad Bunny because of his overall vibes, thats what makes him special. Other latin artists will never have any chance to be this big unless they have one big hit like Despacito

charts done ruined your minds lol

Kanye's a bigger name but Post & Travis's music has been a lot more popular than Kanye's in the last 5 years yeah. obviously 2006~ kanye > travis/post
Kids may listen to a Travis or post Malone album more. Or a pop stars album may get more plays in family friendly establishments around the world. That don’t mean they’re bigger than jay z, Kanye or Eminem. Y’all have way too much chart bias lol the biggest male stars on the planet are Drake, bunny, Kanye, bts, em/jay, Weeknd, j balvin etc.. no way post Malone, Travis Scott, Dua Lipa, Kendrick, etc.. anywhere close lol most of these guys are too new to become truly ww famous anyway. Jay, Ye, Em got that 15+ years fame. Drake too.

They get more streams. No way they’re more popular/bigger lol

what does popularity even mean then? just how many people know someone's name? I thought we were talking solely about music popularity, not person popularity

Yeah lol my test is if my parents don’t know who you are, you haven’t made it yet lol
You go around the world there’s just certain artist that you realize are truly famous and others are US/stream famous. Travis Scott or Kendrick Lamar doesn’t move the needle a bit where I’m from. But Drake does. Kanye may be famous more for bad publicity than music but that mf is “famous” famous lol Ariana grande, dua lipa etc may get big streams but when Adele dropped everybody was talking about it. There are artist more popular with the youth than 30+ crowd for sure.
And AM?
AM doesn't make their numbers public but bad bunny is dominating the AM chart

People equate popularity w/ how much their stream is worth rather than how many people actually are listening.
