Okay, I’ll ask you a simple question then.

Two songs release on the same day.

Song A debuts at #1, Song B debuts at #50.

In the second month, Song A has fallen to #50, and Song B steadily rises all the way to #20.

And by the end of the third month, Song A has fell all the way to #90, about to leave the chart, and Song B has climbed and peaked at #2.

If you were an artist, which of these songs would you rather was yours?

Anybody with a brain would pick song B, only an idiot would avoid answering this very simple question.

Blinding Lights spent more weeks in the Top 5 and the Top 10 than The Box. So it peaked for much longer than The Box did.

The Box released AFTER Blinding Lights did, so this “inflated chart period” you’re talking about for BL also applies to The Box

The Box spent more than double the amount of weeks blinding lights spent #1 . Both songs peaked at #1 so you saying “it peaked much longer than the box did” is objectively wrong lol
The Box also did double the amount of points each week at #1 compared to blinding lights so you can’t even bring up inflated chart runs when it’s points peak while it was #1 are some of the highest ever

Yes and then it fell out of the Top 5 and Top 10 while Blinding Lights was still.

They released within a month of each other so they were competing in the same chart era.

Blame radio all you want but Blinding Lights is currently receiving TRIPLE the amount of daily streams that The Box is

Yeah cause rap songs don’t get the privilege of having radio inflate their runs lol

Lose Control and Heat Waves are prime example of how longevity on the hot 100 this decade is fraudulent lol. This era will be looked at like how mlb fans look at the steroid era

He thinks “peak” means how long it was at number 1, when it means how long it was popular in general

So a song going from number 1 to out of the top 10 has a shorter peak then a song that was at number 1 for a shorter time but stayed in the top 10 much longer, it’s incredibly simple, using payola as an excuse is just cope

What’s more impressive the dude who hit 100 home runs in a season but that ended up being his career total or a dude who hit 10 home runs a year for 11 years and ended up having a higher career total? Ultimately it comes down to how you value longevity vs peak

Niggas said 2018 Drake was the biggest year ever but not one of those Scorpion songs were on the chart after two years

And somehow Blinding Lights being on the chart for four straight years means absolutely nothing

2018 Drake deadass was the most dominant year anyone has ever really seen. You’re talking about one song. Drake had so many hits you couldn’t count on both hands in 2018.

They always lie about things they hope people won’t look up

I honestly didn’t realize how much they lied about this s*** until @Kr0niic started showing the numbers lol
