Whenever something stops favoring Drake, @thegreatdivine immediately starts to render it as useless. When Kendrick Lamar was dominating the charts & Spotify in the US from 2024-2025, she LOVED to say it was all bots and radio. The moment Drake stopped scoring smash hits on the Hot 100, she started pushing the narrative that Spotify success & Hot 100 longterm success was irrelevant.

The real anger she feels is because while Drake has scored 3 #1 hits from his last 2 solo albums, Kendrick has scored one #1 hit from his last album that lasted longer at #1 than all three of Drake’s combined.

She also hates the Hot 100 because Drake isn't nearly as dominant on that chart lately compared to Kendrick Lamar.

Whenever something stops favoring the Weeknd, @fader immediately starts to render it as useless. When the Weeknd was dominating the charts in the US from 2020-2022, he LOVED to flaunt US stats and numbers. The moment the Weeknd stopped scoring smash hits on the Hot 100, he started pushing the narrative that commercial success in the US was irrelevant.

The real anger he feels is because while Drake has scored 3 #1 hits from last 2 solo albums, the Weeknd has scored 0 #1 hits from his last 2 solo albums.

He also hates Apple Music because the Weeknd isn't nearly as dominant on that platform compared to Drake.

Because The Weeknd is a pop star like an Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter compared to a Drake or Taylor . His numbers depend more on the radio, algorithm and botting. Taylor and Drake albums chart way better on Apple Music than The Weeknd because their algorithm isn’t as easy to game as Spotify .

It's actually easier to fake streams on AM

Even Morgan Wallen dominates Apple Music now. The Weeknd only has one major hit on Apple Music and that's what upsets Fader Man.

I get not liking that your fave doesn't score hits on the US charts anymore but dismissing the entirety of the charts simply because of that is silly.

For all my gripes about radio and how it doesn't favor Drake on the charts, I'll never come out to say the Hot 100 chart in its entirely is useless or that commercial success in the US doesn't matter anymore. That's absolutely ridiculous.

It doesn't even have a free tier, it's definitely easier on Spotify lol.
There's even been cases of people getting random artists on their Spotify wrapped which they never listened to, like that one Lil Durk album.

Nah it‘s definitely easier because AM isn‘t showing their numbers (streams). This is nothing new too lol

Easiest way to know who’s gaming the algorithm is when an artist debuts top 10 on Spotify but is #40 Apple Music. Look at how well Drake, Taylor, Morgan Wallen perform well on both platforms compared to a Kendrick or Weeknd.

Only thing with the Hot 100 is the radio addition disproportionately hurts Hip Hop artist and favors payola. The Billboard 200 has a lot of Hip Hop albums while the 100 has very few hip hop songs. I’m sure it’s intended

Because genres perform differently on different platforms. Pop does better on spotify this isnt some new thing.

I actually think it does for first week. They don’t retroactively take away your #1 once the fake streams are caught

fake streams are filtered before charts are released. thats why there are sometimes delays with the charts.

thats also why some albums could be projected to one amount then final number is way less.

there are more artists then just those 5 people. im speaking on the genres as a whole. also morgan is country music which is apple music heavy. And yes weekend makes pop music.

Carti had fake streams and spotify caught it before billboard☠️ 42% filter rate than final billboard total was only like 20 million 😭

What you said didn’t make sense tho since I was pointing out how Drake, Taylor, and Morgan perform well on both platforms compared to Kendrick and Weeknd.

Also, Yes, the artists that depend on the algorithm pushing them do better on Spotify. Renaming “algorithm pushed” to “pop” isn’t as clever as you think

This doesn’t mean they alway catch it early or even that they’ll catch all the fake streams. The All Redd one was just really blatant
