In fact, the more people an album reached at launch, the less people people will be trying it out in week2, that’s why 90m or so opening albums have better drop offs on week2. It’s all just common sense stuff.

I’m just gonna paste the same response to this question. I think we can all tell which one of the two you are.

You’d be doing some insane coping if you think that i week2 (~400k) isn’t insane. 400k is still like one of the biggest numbers for week1 nowadays. In fact 400k-500k in 2025 is about the same as 1m in 2015 given the collapse of the sales market and most people streaming instead of buying.
And if someone were to unironically pretend one should be able to do equal numbers in 2025 compared to 2015 even though streaming made the sales numbers much less nowadays, that just shows how either disingenuous or stupid they are.
