Yeah, and that's why I've complained about the power radio (specifically pop radio) still has on the Hot 100. It inflates the success and popularity of songs beyond what they actually are.
Lost Control charted for 112 weeks but it hasn't sold close to 10M units in the US in all that time.

#10 after 52 weeks looks a little bit too strict tho aint it? Should be like 15-20. There are plenty of songs still doing decently streams and radio wise to earn a slow and steady 11-15th place run after 52 weeks.
And also unfair to songs at like 7-10th place that will get washed out by an album bomb when it’s actually doing ok streams wise and can still rack up many more weeks of top10 after the bomb
I don't mind the recurrency rules being that harsh. The Hot 100 is meant to be a chart that represents that's fresh, new and getting the most buzz. Songs that are almost 3 years old still hugging up the top 20 because some radio format refuses to let them go should have never been a thing to begin with.
