Drake updated far more than Taylor though. In fact, he just updated for like 10 songs recently.
I know that I saw somewhere that "Look What You Made Me Do" was Diamond eligible like a couple of years ago. So, yeah....if Taylor updates her singles certs, she'll likely be 2nd in command after Drake in singles sales.
Taylor recent updated ALL her albums. Drake hasn't done that. Scorpion, More Life, CLB, DLDT all haven't had their certifications updated. Drake has 24 songs currently eligible for Diamond certification but only 15 have been certified so far, not to mention the dozens of songs he is still yet to certify at all. Views and Scorpion are also both Diamond-eligble but are yet to be certified as such.
As for albums, with the exception of her latest album, all of Taylor's albums are up to date. She's only really under-certified in her singles.
The story with both of them is that they've both moved a ton of single/album units in the US. Definitely the biggest artists of the century when it comes to that.
omg who gives a f***

She never updated her singles.
I never said anything about albums.

I agreed with her being undercertified in her singles.
Same with Drake. Drake has well over 100 songs that need to have their certifications updated.
More than that if you count gold.
RIAA
Man I don’t give af about RIAA. Going back and forth about certifications doesn’t mean s*** when Drake isn’t doing this in his own backyard, let alone worldwide:

I don't wanna write her off but I was going through the Billboard 200 chart for this week and Doja Cat's latest album, which has been out for only 4 weeks, is already down to #107 this week (down from #52 last week).
I don't know what exactly happened because she managed to score some hits on her last album. This album is a return to her pop sound but it's by far her worst-performing album outside of her debut album which only charted for 4 weeks.
You've also got people like Jack Harlow who have fallen off the surface of the earth. Just crazy to see promising acts who blew up this decade already fizzling out.

why are normies allergic to good music?
it makes me so mad when an A-lister's best work becomes underrated. it's worlds better than her tiktok bait songs from around 2021

I think the retro sound is what isn't connecting. The Weeknd ran that s*** into the ground by the end of 2022 and nobody that's tried to score hits with that sound has been successful since then.

Speak Now hasn't been updated since 2017
All those Drake albums (besides DLDT) were updated less than 2 years ago

Compositions, hooks and lyrics not connecting with the listeners issue, visual presentation as well. I stand by that cover hindering sales potential (her covers are an issue in general tbh)
And if I said I always felt like these stars from the pandemic era weren't lasting...? they weren't giving Adele/Bruno/JB/Gaga to me at all...
Olivia Rodrigo aside...
I feel like the generation that came after them is more serious
Sabrina, Chappell, Benson, Doechii, Zach Bryan in the country world, Noah Kahan in the singer-songwriter scene

Wouldn’t really consider Doja a pandemic-era star whatsoever, she was popping way before the pandemic

That's literally the only album she didn't update and she updated the TV version of Speak Now, so?
The point was that Taylor's album discography is up to date (with the exception of Speak Now/The Life of a Showgirl, which literally dropped 3 weeks ago). Drake, in comparison, has at least 6 albums that don't have their certifications updated.
