He’s pretty much there. And I used to be a Drake stan myself. But he’s spent the last 5-6 years with one good rap song to every 10 pop meme songs
Can't even get excited for Drake projects anymore if he gon keep remaking Views
Like damn bro you're the one you win you broke all the records make some different s*** lol
man got to make that weird ass alien music and still sold 300k
drake had to cater to 21 savage fans, future fans, kid cudi fans, afrobeat fans, lesbians, and still barely scratched 600k
Can't even get excited for Drake projects anymore if he gon keep remaking Views
Like damn bro you're the one you win you broke all the records make some different s*** lol
Personally I’m interested in any new Drake album just to see what different accent he got on this time around
He has tracks like N2Deep, Champagne Poetry and Pipe Down on the same album as meme tracks like Way 2 Sexy and Girls Want Girls tho
So he more than capable to drop a great album still. He just chases records and numbers while he still can. Cant blame em for that with stans who prob would stop f***ing with him if he doesnt put up such huge numbers

lmao
Again its simply his music wasn't connecting to teenagers, definition of grown folks music
Nah man lol. GKMC and DAMN even TPAB were grown folks music but they all resonated with the average lister way more than big steppers did.
A lot of people just weren’t feeling the album as much as his other ones.
But I will say it’s probably his least accessible project

You gon keep listenin dont worry
You gon keep listenin dont worry
only once and never again more like
Streaming has risen nearly 30% since early 2017, so it would probably be a bit more
More like 300% lol

I mean it was his 4:44 basically, plus some of the controversies on the album too
Should be celebrated for sure I’d be the first to tell you it’s a great achievement..
You know what your doing with this thread tho, couple pages back you were comparing Kendrick sales to a International Pop Megastars album that had a hit TikTok single beforehand.
Don’t pretend this is non bias, don’t pretend your not searching for reasons to big up drake..
Kendrick did 600k with his last album — a figure Harry Styles has never reached. What the f*** are you talking about?
CLB >>> Flop Steppers
Too much filler to be better than MMBS imo. But it's not as bad as a lot of people on here make it out to be

From the stats it looks like this is a common sentiment when approaching Kendrick albums in 2022
He has tracks like N2Deep, Champagne Poetry and Pipe Down on the same album as meme tracks like Way 2 Sexy and Girls Want Girls tho

I mean yeah I don’t fault Drake at all for aiming to make hits and be mainstream. It’s just sad to see he doesn’t gaf about quality or preserving his artistic integrity

*everyone when they heard The Flop Steppers
The thread literally started as a Kendrick hate thread lmao OP is not slick at all
A thread made so people wouldn't have ridiculous expectations of him doing 1M first week and then clowning him when that doesn't happen = a hate thread? You learn something new everyday, I guess.

You just posted some random Twitter users saying it was gonna hit 1M so you could talk about how it wouldn’t
Nah he’s above what I would call lowest common denominator music.
Lowest common denominator music is s*** like Jack Harlow, HER, or bland mall core h&m type pop music
Wait why do you dislike HER? I haven't peeped her whole discog but I've heard her on a couple of collabs and on them she's solid
Wait why do you dislike HER? I haven't peeped her whole discog but I've heard her on a couple of collabs and on them she's solid
Her music is pretty safe and the Grammys love her despite having like no fanbase

She has a nice voice but her music is pretty bland. Plus she’s an obvious plant

Doubling down on it I see..
Comparing albums that have pre release hit singles and physicals to albums that have an almost non existent roll out…
Surprised you wouldn’t understand that considering you made the same argument for other artists..

Talking about this Kendrick W
how is that bad
he been gone for 5 years lol. mfs have became freshmen and graduated high school since then son
Now the excuse is people don't care about him after 5 years to stream?
After everything he said since he dropped DAMN went viral?
After all the viral tweets about his music and him needing to come back to save rap?
That's what you're landing on?
Talking about this Kendrick W
Damn is an undeniable w, only haters disagree
