Future sales going up with each new album proves that even in the current state is possible to grow for most artists, of course in the high range 300k+ is a lot harder (and once you get to 500k+ almost impossible) but for artists in the 60-120k range the current state of the charts shouldnt be an excuse for low numbers
That’s exactly what I’ve been saying
She’s a pop singer who raps sometimes
Thank you for proving my point
MAN IT’S BEEN 5 DAYS
She’s a pop star who is a pop singer. She raps sometimes in her pop songs, but she’s not a rapper.
This concept is so simple to grasp
these are pressing matters nessy
Dude reposted the same 3 lines for a week now that’s crazy
There are other examples like Gunna, Lil Baby, Moneybag Yo, Bad Bunny , Lil Durk , etc
Your genre classifications are spotty
please explain how need to know is a rap song and not a pop song...

What he said about people automatically assuming this Kendrick album is great because of his past work is very true. Many people saying that didn't even listen to the album as much as they'd have you believe. They were calling the album the best album of the year just off the fact that it dropped at all.
And another thing he said that stood out to me was that just because Kendrick has finally dropped an album in 5 years doesn't mean you get to put him above niggas who have been here dropping heat consistently in the time he's been gone and that's also very true.

Exactly a lot of good points. I like how he pointed out that just because Kendrick's message is good, that it automatically ranks above other styles of rap albums. He has to deliver musically too. He did give props to Kendrick's rapping ability which no one would deny. The album is cool, it's just not mind blowing

GKMC/TPAB were undeniable to me. I took me a while to get fully appreciate TPAB but even on my first listen, I knew it was something special and unlike anything Kendrick had ever made before. I think it's funny that anyone here seems to think people are scared to give Kendrick his props but everytime he has dropped something undeniable, he's gotten props for it almost immediately. This album simply doesn't do that. It's not like his others and what's probably toxic is the fact that people act like that's impossible. The greatest rappers of all time have albums people regard as misses or less than their best work. It's okay. These people are human. It's foolish to expect everything they drop to be a 10/10 anyways.
Like I've been saying, Kendrick is a HOF rapper already. We don't have to kiss ass and act like everything he does is untouchable because that simply isn't true.

I have the exact same experience, it took me a while to really have the genius of tpab connect but it really is something special. GKMC always been a favorite. Kendrick is amazing, but no one should be exempt from criticism and what his fans do is very toxic and annoying.
I think its obvious drake my goat but I can admit when I find a song he makes that is boring or lazy, much of scorpion personally for example not my cup of tea

I'm the first to call out a Drake song I think is weak. I believe it's very healthy to be able to criticize people whose work you enjoy. It doesn't take anything away from what they've done in the past or what they could do in the future.
Anyways, it seems like Harry Styles might debut 4 songs in the top 10 as well. If that happens, that'll be 4 consecutive weeks of at least 4 top 10 debuts starting with Future and ending with Harry Styles. Crazy.

Exactly, not everything in life has to be black and white. Things in life are usually grey. There will be amazing songs and there will be ok ones. Kendrick fans want you to believe every song is 10/10
