Exactly. Dance ain’t pop, and definitely not hip hop level in 2022. The genre itself is on life support it makes no sense to expect this to perform as well as Scorpion or CLB. Especially since Drake is known as a rapper first before anything else.

I went on some other music forums and they were so confused as to why Drake made a dance album and not a pop album because they all know that genre is dead and in the ground commercially but KTT nerds expect that since it's Drake, it should rival the numbers he'd do when he makes music that he built his fanbase on. I don't think this will be as big as Views/ML longterm obviously but the rap excuse goes out the window when you realise this did way better than DLDT

I always knew it'd perform like this just off the fact that it's dance music. It's mad Drake fans who played a couple of songs and got turned off because they didn't like what they heard + they didn't get the rap album they thought they'd get. Even on AM, it's the two songs he raps on that are high on the charts. That tells you all you need to know.
