Still waiting for @TroyAveStan to let us know the status of this album's mysteriousness

Can we get a trenches expert to comment on this album?

  • Jun 18, 2022

we’re probably gonna get a scorpion esque rollout next time

    RESIGNED

    Drake made an experimental album

maybe but still more palatable to your average person than United in Grief, We Cry Together, Worldwide Steppers

I always knew it'd perform like this just off the fact that it's dance music. It's mad Drake fans who played a couple of songs and got turned off because they didn't like what they heard + they didn't get the rap album they thought they'd get. Even on AM, it's the two songs he raps on that are high on the charts. That tells you all you need to know.

I didn’t expect CLB numbers but because its Drale i still expected a lot of first time listeners. I don’t think people really look at the genre like that when they do their first listen. They see its a new Drale album and they click play. Because his brand is just that strong. Maybe a lot of people just don’t know that he released a new album bc it was a surprise release idk

That'll depend on how well it holds and forget Spotify because it's as good as dead there. He'd need at least 400M US streams to pull 300k and I don't see that happening tbh.

Maybe it's an album that stabilizes over time but it definitely won't have a blockbuster week. That much was always certain.

Eh it’ll depend on Apple Music and the 21 song. Future did way less on Spotify and still did 225k

    For silly comparisons sakes

More life did 62 million streams on its 3rd day on Spotify

they also didn't play DLDT, a rap album

why do you think that was?

    1. The casual rap drake fan listened to DLDT

    2. We heard 90% of the songs on it before it dropped

S*** even the genre said dance they might not have hit play at all.

Many dance producers been shading the album calling it wack lmao. People who like that kinda music been calling it "bad dance music."

drake’s allowed a smaller cult classic album

he already smashed the barrier 3 times in a row with

    Views
    Scorpion
    CLB

in this era anything following CLB would be smaller yall forget he had 9 out of the 10 biggest songs in america

Grad did 950k, then the next year 808s did 400k iirc.

We saw which one of those two shifted the musical landscape, and had everyone switch up.

Give it time, they’ll catch up to this album.

Nah, they played the first few songs, didn't like what they heard and dipped.

I'm in for Drake & OVO entering his European music phenom arc

You know how 50 Cent & The Game are like Moses and Jesus in the Balkans?

That's what Drake and PND should do for house music festivals in the Germany and the Netherlands

    I'm with The Boy

And that's why I'm saying it'll do 200k. It's not doing 300k just off of AM, especially with 14 tracks.

This feels like waiting for election results. The AM tally will be big for us
