Lil Wayne β Rebirth {Rock} β 2010 | 176k first week
Lil Wayne β Tha Carter IV {Rap} β 2011 | 964k first week
Wow, I wonder what happened π€
Why did Lil Wayne's rock album sell less than 20% of what his rap album from 2 years prior sold? π€
And why did his next rap album sell close to what his rap album from 3 years prior sold? π€
I guess we'll never know.
Because Rebirth was ass minus one or two tracks just like Honestly, Neversold
The people have spoken. We want quality rap music like Future and Gunna dropped not that electro house bullshit.
Bad Bunny actually did more than these two so people want spanish music

I see the logic but the jump from Drakes previous stuff isnt as big as the jump from rap to rock tbh

Rebirth was ASS and niggas back then knew it thatβs why. Carter 4 rollout was all hits too. Ainβt got nothing to do with genre.

A sales projection appears, at first sight, a very trivial thing, and easily understood. Its a***ysis shows that it is, in reality, a very queer thing, abounding in metaphysical subtleties and theological niceties.

I guess we'll find out when Drake finally makes a full rap album and doesn't try to lean on pop audience like he's been doing his entire career (which will probably never happen because he's not an interesting enough rapper to pull off a solely rap album)
I canβt believe as a Kendrick stan that I have to defend Drakeβs music to a drake stan
Streets is done
There is a new king on top of the industry folks. Join the new dynasty or get run over by it

LMFAOOOO

It is and Rebirth actually had a lot of rap songs but just by it being marketed as a rock album and being rock-influenced, it turned off a lot of Wayne's fans and when he returned to rap music, they came back. That's my point.
Bad Bunny won.
im feeling things.
