No, a diss track being your biggest song just means the world only cared enough to support you that much because it was at someone else's expense. They hated someone as much as you did and that's why they supported you for that particular song. It wasn't because they loved you or even loved the song for that matter.

Especially when the guy the song is about is legitimately the biggest hitmaker in rap history with dozens of mega hits that have absolutely nothing to do with beefing you or anybody else.

Kendrick might not mind NLU being his biggest song right now but I bet he feels differently 10-15 years from now when he's still known best as "the Noy Like Us guy."

I'm not saying it does. But you're delusional if you don't think there's a generation of kids right now who only know Kendrick as the Not Like Us guy. It's not because he doesn't have other hits but they don't know them because he went 7 years without scoring a smash hit and then the first one he got just so happened to be Not Like Us.

I know Kendrick has bops. You know that. But that's because we have been here from day 1 and know his discography back to front. The 12-14 year old kid who is registering his first real hit as Not Like Us doesn't know that. Doesn't help that it's also the song being platformed the most by him for almost a year now so it'll stick with that generation of kids as his staple hit.

All I'm saying is that having a defamatory diss track about another man as your biggest hit will be something you eventually come to resent. That's why he's spent months trying to make it into something deeper and bigger than Drake. "Oh, Not Like Us is spiritual. It's about uniting the West Coast. It's about having integrity." All cap and cope because he's trying to change the narrative about it being what it really is: a diss track aimed at the nigga bigger than him.
