Inb4 Drake stans and Drake haters alike turn this into a 20+ page thread.

To be fair putting kanye kendrick and travis as the kings of the decade is the stupidest idea of the day

Every decade is legendary overall but 2000s the least legendary hip hop decade imo.

culture wise 2000s were legendary and the epitome of hip hop culture. hip hop wouldnt be the same these days without the 2000s.

Yeah and it's others too, Blu, Elzhi, Dilla of course, T.I.'s early s***, UGK's comeback, Q-Tip, etc

But like, other than "Int'l Players Anthem", I'm not running a lot of that s*** back regularly anymore

These coulda been the only albums to drop in the 2010s and it woulda made it a better decade than the 2000s

80s and 90s and the first half of the 10s imo were the pinnacle eras of hip hop culture

Hip hop culture was corny as f*** in the mid-to-late 2000s. Early 2000s were dope though

  • Sep 23, 2021

Putting Travis above Drake alone just clearly makes this a bait thread

And I honestly didn’t really f*** with anything Drake made after Views

i’d argue that the 2000s may have changed the landscape the most

we’re still feeling the influence of so many artists from that era

his influence is hard to pinpoint but the game would not even be close to what it is today without him

also the 2000s hip hop culture is slowly making a comeback as well.

this dude gotta be trolling if he says the 2000s were corny. literally the greatest era for hip hop culture

  • Sep 23, 2021

Drake is the greatest hitmaker in rap history. To exclude him in his best decade so far is a pathetic attempt to troll. Grow up

To be very clear, Kanye puts out better ALBUMS than Drake, generally speaking.

Quite frankly, Both of these dudes have engaged in very questionable behavior over the years.

At the end of the day, they both make good music that serves the masses in different ways and you have to be a clown to not think the single most commercially dominant, SoundCloud birthing hip hop artist of the decade wouldn’t be included in some tier of “Kings” or whatever.

Eminem is corny as hell and you’d still have to give him his credit in the 2000s, so let’s not be choosy here.

Drake has 4 classics and I regularly listen to IYRTITL

I literally just prefer Kendrick, Kanye, and Travis. That's it. Danny Brown, Tyler the Creator, SpaceGhostPurrp, Death Grips, Big KRIT, Chief Keef, Future, etc, were all on fire too, as was and is Drake.

I just like Kendrick, Kanye, and Travis at another level. It's not even a diss y'all are wild

Em in the first half of the 2000s obviously ran it and it's revisionist history to say otherwise but his music doesn't do much for me at this point, being completely honest. MMLP is a major classic when I'm not trying to get stans pissed off but I genuinely can't stomach how bitter and hateful it is too much.

Yea but that doesnt nullify the influence that artists like ye, t pain, wayne, cudi, gucci, kast had on music that the game’s still replicating to this day

those artists created whole sonic landscapes that jn 2021, still haven’t been fully explored

    It doesn't

People just literally randomly coming at me for not putting him in the OP even though I didn't mention him or anyone else aside from Kendrick, Kanye, and Travis

  • Sep 23, 2021

I think if OP added “in my opinion” or “to me personally” to the title it would kill a lot of the controversy but it wouldn’t do the numbers so
