Well going by your google defintion the standard is that he has greater importance than what is possessed i.e. he is not important.
So if you think kendrick is overrated or he doesn't have the standing to say what he does on that song then yea he is pretentious. But I think most people including me would say otherwise, since kendrick is very important esp in the realm of hiphop and music.they called kanye pretentious too during his run, who cares honestly
