So people do in fact enjoy quotables. Thought some of you felt differently a few years ago
I’ve always thought its been exaggerated that Kendrick has no quoteables
I also dont think quoteables is the most important thing for a rapper to have and I still feel that way even with Kendrick leaning on it more now
I think this is 4th best but its not a quality drop from the big 3
What do you put above this one?
I think 4th is a fair spot, I made my own list & pretty sure it fell somewhere around there
This album is to MMTBS as DAMN was to TPAB
People gotta realize he got a cycle now lol

Tpab damn. gkmc
I don't think anyone has had it up there as one of the most impressive or important things as an MC. People were just saying that it was a thing he either didn't have the ability to reach or didn't look for it. Seems like he has been going for it recently and with a lot of success.
The idea that Kendrick has only recently gone for/been able to achieve quotables is way off, his verse here is nothing BUT quotables and it's from 2012, IMO he just adapts his lyrical style to each project as he sees fit, this latest one being his most poppy and direct

People gotta realize he got a cycle now lol
Yup 3 great albums followed by 3 trash
Great cycle

A lot of us grew up in the prime Lil Wayne era so the punchlines were a staple. Has there ever been an argument against quotables?
I wish he would have put luther and dodgers blue near each other.
Dodger blue into peakaboo crazy
Almost shed a tear to reincarnated. Made Niggaz was on repeat growing up. Haven’t heard it in years so I ain’t recognize the beat at first, then I realized bout a minute in

It was definitely true IMO but there are more to it than just yes/no. Did he go for it? Personally don't think he did so excessively earlier on in his career. If he did we would've noticed if he failed in creating them.
But people were just pointing it out and unfortunately a lot of his fans made fun of that saying that Kendrick isn't the type of artist that is going for the ''IG caption'' type of lyrics. So it is just funny when they are now loving the quotables.
But as I said, not exactly something that's very important for an MC. Not among the things I am looking for when judging their abilities as rappers. It's just funny seeing the hypocrisy

Yes, absolutely. Kendrick fans were making fun of ''IG caption'' type of lyrics
