It's fair to say you enjoy this album more because it's less concept focused and heavy than the previous works. But "pretentious" has a different connotation

This album also has Kendrick calling himself Jimi Hendrix and Whitney Houston reborn, so Idg why you're saying those are pretentious and this isn't

Understandable, people that aren't from the fast food music era fully get that you can't judge a body of work like an album after a few hours. Tried to tell that to a few in here who in return thought that I was stupid for not being able to rank an album in his discog the same day it dropped

I am a big fan of it but as you said, need some time with it first. But it's without a doubt my AOTY, that's for certain. Amazing album that has a lot of the things I want from him + some stuff I love that he carried out perfectly, like Gloria
