na but they grew up listening to that freestyle music and other old school stuff

He took artists who were adept at making albums with great pop hits (I.e. Taylor when executive produced by Max Martin) and instead gave them stripped back, minimalistic production to prioritize more of the songwriting aspect instead of the actual soundscape.

Like trying to turn pop artists into Bob Dylan. Some people enjoy it I guess, but to me it’s forced and boring and I just want the pop hits back personally.
