Every pitchfork excerpt I read about the Kendrick-Drake beef calls it uninteresting but they still gave 'Not Like Us' a top 5 song of the decade
I could easily put them over everyone of Kanye’s barring TCD/LR/MBDTF.
Graduation is pretty good, same with 808s, but I always felt like, for the most part, the singles are the highlights of those two.
I’d put Graduation/808s on par with DAMN./MM, all Kendrick’s other records clear.
i dont agree with that singles are the highlights part at all bro graduation a damn greatest hits album pretty much
It is legit a stalemate
Yeah cuz Kenny doesn’t have a single bad album. Not one that sticks out like a sore thumb.
Kanye will always have a better album run then Kendrick
However, I believe Kendrick will have the more consistently great discography when it’s all said and done
Those albums are just too strong.
ye is not in this lol
it counts bro

Graduation is a 10/10 album
And to think there were people that turned on him because of 808s and Yeezus lol
Hard to believe 808s got hate lol, prob my fav album from him

The guy that covers rap is different than those who voted dim pretty sure. It’s puzzling.

Autotune had a much different stigma than it does now. T-Pain used to get a crazy amount of hate as well.
Also gotta keep in mind that Autotune has also advanced a lot as a plug-in. Back then, you could tell when someone was using heavy autotune. Now, you can disguise it and have it be barely noticeable. Which I think is part of the reason autotune is more accepted now.
It's just Alphonse
I don't know who that is but anybody named 'Alphonse' must be goofy af
It's just Alphonse
He has a weird issue with Kendrick and for some reason they always let him review Dot because they know his opinion is s*** but it’ll attract angry clicks.
Problem with ye is that all his albums aged well we dont know how the last 2 for kendrick will. 808s was hated at the time yeezus is still hated and graduation has a couple ass songs

This I can agree with. I think the younger generation will look at Kendrick albums his we view Kanye’s.
A lot of old heads don’t rate Kanye as high
Jay z tried to end auto tune
I get why tho lmao you had niggas like Yung Berg abusing it in 2008

They looked at it how we look at AI now

i thought their review scores were an aggregate of their staff overall?

That’s what they say but you can literally see the difference between the reviewer and the scores. Unless they have the same brain it’s not really like that.

Nah
That's why MC is more important because u can't just depend on 1 person

metacritic always been ass though, they give more weight to 'respected' publications. I've seen albums with six equal 8/10 reviews get an 83 on that site. How the f*** does that make any sense.
Music criticism died with the rise of poptimism in the 2010s anyways
