why does this forum speak about drake as if he ever had credibility to begin with, his entire rap career is him trying too hard to prove he's a "real rapper" after being the soft RnB hook guy on the real rappers songs he then felt he had to prove himself a little too hard in rap to be accepted and he never really was accepted, or at least not in the same way a Kendrick would be, Drake is accepted more pop wise

There's a lot of context for things though bro.

2015 Drake had way better public perception than 2024 Drake.

People liked Meek less than him.

Not only that but people tried to spin the ghostwriting to "everyone does it" / Drake "co-writes" / he doesn't get help on the time stamp tracks.

Also, Drake's female fanbase was way bigger in the 2010s than it is now, him dissing women all over Her Loss and FATD + the optics of supporting Tory Lanez turned a lot of the women off him.

honestly the way these niggas spin that ghostwriting s*** irks me so bad because it’s like imagine trying to spin that sort of s*** in any other medium of art
