Semantics

I love that this is the first album where we really get to see Kendrick for who he is at this moment. The previous albums he's made were heavily labored over for years in order to present certain aspects of himself to the audience. This is the first time we're seeing Kendrick quickly assemble his current thoughts and feelings and put them on wax. That's what makes this album feel so different from his others, not the apparent lack of a grand concept or its accessibility.
