Couldn’t agree more. Tbh I think Travis is better than him all time at this point too
I was posting on ktt almost the whole run
So I don’t understand how this one beef is making niggas forget the last 10-15 years of Cole. But idek these niggas or ya’ll. Just wild to see, especially in the middle of doing something amazing for the fans rn that’s pretty impactful

What’s up with the Cole slander in here? He already lost lol
lol straight capping. I’ve been listening to Cole since the come up and who dat wasn’t #1 at all. Biggest that charted was #93.
Half the other songs also didn’t hit top 10 either.
Cole was in new school big 3 convo until he dropped Sideline Story, then there was a huge gap.
Im not even saying Cole isnt big 3 the big 3 exists bc of him
Like he has a lot of fans, I knew hella people who loved his music in school and I started following him in like 2010
But to me he just isnt nearly as good as Drake or Kendrick like at all, and a lot of people feel that way, no matter what era we go back to
fr can you imagine kendrick dropping a might delete later I would throw up

The outcome of this beef was some s*** debated about for 10+ years before it happened so ofc it’s going to play a factor in their standing amongst the fans.
Beef or not, Coles career is solidified but will always pale in comparison to Drake & Kendrick to me

I was talking about 106 & park cause I was watching it happen, so I would think that’s pretty impactful per the conversation and how things were at the time
The other songs I deadass listed as I was looking at where they charted
Only thing that even brought Cole back in a conversation was a small subset hyping up his feature run. Kendrick and Drake surpassed him in 2012 and he has always been a distant 3.

And Kendrick taking the 5 year break during this helped a lot

Word. I think he has a solid case with a lot of things Drake and Dot can’t say they ever did in music. To each their own.
My main gripe with other NYers is that we got the most to say about every other region's sound but we left our guys dead in the water either due to hate or some other s***.
When Kendrick & Rocky were coming up at the same time, LA embraced Kendrick while a lot of our OGs was hating on Rocky for not sounding like Dipset or some s*** lol
Yet at the same time our OGs and Gatekeepers wouldn't give Joey Badass and the beast coast niggas any play or motion because their "names" weren't big enough so they had to run to the internet to get love
After Pop Smoke got killed the Brooklyn drill scene just devolved into niggas doing Christian Bale's Batman voice while ignoring the other elements of what made Pop stand out.
And that's not even getting into niggas not acknowledging the lesser known acts like MIKE
Proud NYer for life but where we at in rap is completely our own fault due to ego and hubris lol
100% it’s the older guard tho bro. Our gen and younger have had no embracing other sounds and newer up and coming rappers. Whether it was the New NY wave from the blog era or the new drill movement or the newer underground sound.
Ironically that same gen that were the ones that started the domino effect of NY rap hopping on sounds outside of the east coast. But njggas from that era have a Peter pan complex they they are dealing with now alot of them niggas looked at the young guys coming up as competition because they wanna be young forever
It’s okay if you don’t like the “west coast” sound, but we really don’t give a s*** out west. Take it or leave It, it’s whatever. I’m just glad he’s unapologetically embracing where he’s from and not doing the boring cookie cutter trap or drill mainstream sound that everyone’s doing.
Only Kendrick would get this critique honestly. Niggas find reasons to hate.

Yeah my bad, second part you are right it’s just that half of those charted for album drop week and fell the f*** off.
"God, please kill Akademiks"

His DoorDash orders are waging a war on his arteries. We shall overcome ✊🏾

Yeah I remember that album not being received so well. The he came back wit the other joint that had power trip and that got a better response but it was FHD that really put him in that convo

For my personally until section 80 Cole was same tier but he disappointed on his debut album and he never earned it back because Kendrick dropped classics while he remained inconsistent.
I mean the narrative already created & being ran with is that by suing UMG for not protecting him as an asset & allegedly pumping the NLU record is that he's some underdog fighting against an industry that is becoming more monopolized & anti-star. & all his stans are already running with that.
Even if that stuff about the labels is partially true about devaluing even it's biggest stars expendable for leverage in negotiation sake, it doesnt take away from the simple fact that this nigga lost & played bad strategy in a conflict he gleefully abetted.
Nobody outside the Mal types will look at this as a noble cause. Oh you the Industry Messiah now? Tryna "get the slaves freed"?
I'm interested in the whole devaluing practice but OVO is the police regardless (the timing).

I fw dude but I never really thought this big 3 s*** held any weight. None of his albums are in the same caliber as drake or dot's best except maybe FHD.
fr can you imagine kendrick dropping a might delete later I would throw up
Niggas tryna say i might delete better is better than gnx
