privileged rappers rebuttal

Brother what the f*** am not looking at? Lmaoo
Didn’t Trav defend ye on Utopia? Swear I saw a lyric defending him
Plus is Q even big enough to get backlash? I doubt his fanbase even cares
I think Kanye a piece of s*** but he’s my GOAT so I’m not necessarily offended by Q defending ye. Ye deserves his backlash but Q had a point on how complicated mental illness is
I just don’t think fans of Q would try to cancel him
Yeah i dont know, the lyric was “you niggas tried to Cancel Ye nigga I aint with it nah” idk why they felt the need to censor it though
I hate how a lot of hip-hop artists get big and don’t do interviews anymore
Cole, Kendrick, Drake
Because most artists in general (not even rappers) don't like doing them.
Sade notoriously rarely did them. If most artists had the luxury to let their music do all the talking, they would lol. Selling yourself is a task even musicians at the local stage hate doing (ask me how I know).
We're mostly introverts, that plays a part in it. So making it to a place where you don't even have to do it (especially as most media platforms have ate themselves into clout chasing clip culture) hell yea f*** that.

^most interviews in a nutshell these days.

jhonni blaze ex friend leaked a text she and drake had and exposed drake saying he was a slave to this tour.
Peekaboo bottom 2 is crazy
Give it more spins there’s some amazing lines
Yeah I’m listening to the full album on the way to work and home everyday and hoping Peekaboo / GNX track clicks eventually. Gonna give it a couple more spins cus I was initially mixed on Hey Now and that song is so damn good now
TDE still so consistent... amazing albums from Q Soul and Kenny this year
I was definitely always a casual Q fan but Blue Lips blew me away
HEARD WHAT HAPPENED TO YO MANS NOT SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS!
“I'm trippin' and I'm lovin' it” delivery is hilariously fire
It's clip culture. Thirsty ass niggas can't wait to chop it up to either make money off it or create false narratives. Imagine that ak page if Kendrick dropped an interview rn
interviewers would rather fumble a bag and get clout. shoutout to ari lennox, and kehlani. had interviews where the person brought up s*** that was told to not bring up and deliberately did it to get a reaction.
One of the reasons I'm glad this new era of artists are just kinda like "eh, whatever" about interviews.
do you mean as of late or in general cos that one he did with rob markman for tpab was really great
I did actually like that one.

If Kendrick sat down with Ak directly do u think Ak would keep the same energy?

I mean yeah I get interviews are just promo to sell something but for me, interviews are about insight into my favorite artists’ minds
I just wanna hear all my favorite artists talk about the process and inspiration about the songs I’ve played 100s of times snd connect with on a spiritual level
I get they wanna control their own narrative cus MFs on social media wanna twists their word but people will always hate no matter what.
But your fans just wanna listen to you talk about your art
Dodger Blue being so short is a f***in crime
was just thinking this yesterday lmao song needed an extra min

that's what an album is, them talking about their art. As a fan, I get what you mean by this. But also as an artist, I understand how an artist would feel like

especially in today's era where an artist that seeks to control their own narrative is something that is now seen as revolutionary as opposed to just...normal s*** a decade ago.
You also gotta remember before internet/blogs took over the world, the interviews we got from our fav artists was in magazines lmfao. sometimes we wouldn't hear from our favorites for months or even years lol.
you wanna get a glimpse into an artist mind, some of those artists wanna protect that and honestly I'm on the side of the artist.
