I actually haven’t even spun Blue Lip’s or Vince’s album. I really should. Basically exclusively listened to Drake, Kendrick and Cole this year

Imo this is the album that really separates him from the big three for good. I don’t think either of them have the self-awareness or the creativity to show this type of range while still hitting the mark in terms of appeal

I love Cole but what’s held him back his whole career is his commitment to being the Everyman while also lacking the audacity to be as polarizing as his peers 🤷🏾‍♂️

You said self awareness and creativity to show range. I can give you plenty J. Cole solo songs, singles, and features during that run that had niggas ranking him high cause of it and show range for his particular palette. I get that lil beef altered niggas perspectives in Cole, but I remember what it was just a year ago

what held him back his whole career is not making a great project but instead a few good ones
