thegreatdivineI also can't say I appreciate Kendrick's vocal inflections on here. Some of them work, most of them don't. He sounds like he's trying to rap with food in his mouth on a handful of songs on here and I'm so confused why he keeps doing that s*** when he already has a dope enough rap voice. Like nigga, just rap with your normal actual voice and stop doing ridiculous voices. Nicki and Doja pull this s*** off better that he ever will. I wish he'd retire that s***.
Disagree but I also didn't really vibe with the alien voices on gkmc. It works for me here

Nov 23, 2024thegreatdivineI'm not hating. I've been saying I hope he got back to making bops after Mr. Morale. He did that here. I also think it's cool that he's finally leaning back into the West Coast sound for the first time since GKMC (never understood why he ever deviated from it to begin with). I just think the bops on here are a lazy attempt at making another NLU and I know he's better than that. On DAMN, we got HUMBLE, LOVE, DNA all bops that sound nothing alike. I just wished he did more of that here in terms of variation but it's whatever, I guess. I like the storytelling on heart pt. 6 (probably my fave outta all the songs on the album). Album is decent but I'll probably only revisit 3-5 joints on here and that's why I'm disappointed because that's the same number of songs I revisit on Mr. Morale meanwhile, I play Section.80, GKMC, TPAB and DAMN and I don't ever change tracks. I can just let them rock all the way through.
Very reasonable take coming from you but the only thing I wanted to push back on a lil bit is that comment about this being his first west coast album since GKMC

I only play 10 songs off Honestly, Nevermind. Her Loss is skipless to me. I play like 18/23 songs off the OG version of Her Loss. I play like 17/21 songs off CLB. I don't skip anything on Dark Lane Demo Tapes and Care Package.
