This was also earlier this month.
So I guess it is a musical?
https://twitter.com/culturecrave/status/1840965249329217660I think their effects team is working on the superbowl as well.
What happened to the boondocks though, even by season 3 it becomes a lot less thoughtful, the characters become very generic. We go from episodes like A Huey Freeman Christmas, The Passion of Reverend Ruckus, Wingman, that Riley art episode, to s3 where the entire tension of the episode is whether or not grandad gets his s*** split open

curb your enthusiasm went from one of the funniest shows on TV to generic garbage and its been that way for a sec. it happens.
I still fw all 3 but you gotta call a spade a spade Chappelle had a skit being in the klan Boondocks had Ruckus South park was outta pocket and still is lol
they are not really the same at all tbh and miss why those characters were written that way
especially when you contrast it with Huey being a black nationalist and Marxist and Riley being a wannabe street gangster
It’s not the same humor that South Park is trying to go for, especially when the creators aren’t even black
Also the largest controversy from boondocks is that the show is greatly a black man critiquing negative aspects of his culture
seen it several times man, i'm just saying it's not racism.
Look at the name of this title we can hide under it wasnt racist they were making fun of racist whatever help you sleep at night i guess
Again im not tryna s*** on Boondocks i grew up off it and South park and Chappelle but can i not be honest when i notice some s***

Just because a character is racist doesn't mean the show is racist dawg

Like we can take the R Kelly episode for instance and how each of those characters responds within the black community
Riley took the stance that R Kelly was black and didn’t care about his crimes and just liked the music like everyone else was dancing at the end
Huey saw thru the bullshit and tried to tell everyone to look past the music but everyone told him to shut up and he got ignored
Ruckus didn’t care regardless and thought he should’ve been in jail, but you see him have that conversation with Robert and they disagree but eventually by the end of the episode they walk away
Together
Robert understands Uncle Ruckus really is just self hating and he’s still alone at the end of the day. It is why he’s still tolerated ruckus.
Ruckus being the darkest character in the show while being the most racist is for a reason not just aesthetic

I agree with this to an extent. In season 1 the episode with Stinkmeaner was about how senseless black on black violence is. In season 3 they had his crew try to kill Robert with pretty much with no deeper message underlying the episode
This is why I hate when creators try to appease the audience just because a particular character becomes popular. It's what's currently plaguing Hollywood today.
With that being said I think that episode was an exception to the rule, season 3 still had a lot of bangers
I been really thinking about everything we had growing up and if we being real South park was childish and racist Boondocks was childish and racist Chappelle show was childish and racist
South park absolutely.
Both chappelle show and boondocks had sophisticated points to it ESPECIALLY if you read the latter comics (which I’m 110% sure you didn’t)
Just because a character is racist doesn't mean the show is racist dawg
Thats my whole point as a grown man i see it different now then i did then
I found that s*** funny and maybe im overthinking about the impact but was mfs laughing with you or laughing at you when they watched that s***

The existence of a blind man being a racist is pretty genius actually.
Idk how ruckus is ignorant lol

Def some hitters but no thoughtful episodes, conscious if you will, I like red ball but they just playing kickball, I like Riley selling candy like a gangster but where's the social commentary, became more about getting jokes off than a message.

That episode was funny af but they really had no message
They didn’t even care about stinkmeaner, they just wanted an excuse to f*** some s*** up
South park absolutely.

A self hating black man is absolutely worth getting laughed at for the ridiculousness of it all that was the whole point.
The ONLY blindside the Boondocks ever had was the episode about Hoes but also gender politics was very elementary back then.
gonna be terrible bc its these two untalented cacs and kendrick gonna lose a lot of the Not Like Us goodwill he had built up
untalented cacs is crazy. Book of mormon is a classic
