Kendrick talks openly about the things that matter and concern him. (E.g. the african american experience, which explains his election takes or roe v wade takes and the topics discussed on all his albums). He does not possess the perspective to speak much on the global perspective past his south africa trip (which was also surface level. I cringed at his negus poem as africans i knew irl was like “lol that aint where nigga come from”)

i love kendrick as much as the next bald white guy, but showing an almost decade old song as an example of him being political (which very surface level at that) when people’s opinions change constantly….is not a great look is all imma say!

Man idk how to explain people being disappointed. There are examples of Kendrick talking about politics outside of black issues, and in my perspective he tries to come off as an intellectual. If you really think nobody should’ve seen him as someone who’s conscious, then we disagree

It’s fine for Kendrick to not care about political issues, and it’s also fine for people to be disappointed
