Probably wouldn't be my top half of favorites on GKMC but still a classic
after the sad tale of watching others succeed like it ends with him literally flying himself
so beautiful. reminds me of how Kanye was saying "they didn't expect Kanye to end up on top, they expected that College dropout to drop and then flop" which is crazy after the fact, and here Kendrick is talking about flying out of compton on Good Kid, motherfucking M.a.a.D city

When we grow up we gon go and get us a million

"oh yeah i remember that it was the ravioli with the hot sauce in it right" Petey P aka the real mvp is my fav part of that song tbh
the imagery of him just looking at the Rodney King riots outside his car window in his little seatbelt and s***

i wonder why it was only a bonustrack (i mean i guess cohesiveness tbh) but it's such a giving and chilling perspective of what the lifestyle Kendrick portrays in GKMC can ultimately lead to and the harsh realities thereof. the song essentially being a back and forth phone call from prison is so dope. compliments the overall narrative and story arc beautifully

i think kendrick had a really specific story he wanted to tell and it just didn’t fit in the narrative, which is true. there’s no where you could put this in the album without it sticking out except for an outro, which it kinda is.
hell if i remember right there was rumors Kendrick turned down f***in problems from Drake because it didn’t work for his album. so they did Poetic justice instead and Drake gave that to Rocky.

Yeah there's a solo version of F***ing Problems with 2 Kendrick verses
Building County Blues also sounds like C&C part 2
GKMC was gonna be a double album first part Kendrick as a kid and the 2nd part Kendrick at 17, would've been insane

agree yeah, as much as it fits in terms of narrative and good sounding as it is it would def stick out. there's places i could see it fit though, like after the Art of peer pressure as an aftermath to "get in the car we finna get active" or after the first part of Sing About Me (i know blasphemous af but tying in with the being "sung about"-motif ) but it wouldn't have flown as naturally as the current end result transitions, sequencing of songs + their switch ups and the importance of the skits. would've loved to see the sequence of his version of the tracklist including this song
didn't know F***in problems was considered for GKMC that would definately stick out
vibing to the movie of the album than OUT OF NOWHERE "Guh, i know you want DIH DIH"
