is "dead silence" the name of the album, chief? blink twice for yes
People excited for this?
considering Tpab is the highest rated rap album of all time, and damn the 2nd highest rated of all time, people are excited to see if he can have the 3 highest rated rap albums ever made, and drop them in a row.
But personally I doubt it will top tpab which is considered by many musicians as a top 5 album in music history in any genre(and currently #1 this decade according to legitimate end decade lists),...but he can definitely make his 3rd top 10 album of all time, regardless of the musical genre.
Like kamasi washington said, the beauty with kendrick is that he can not make anything less than a 9/10. And u can argue ALL his albums are his 2nd best after TPAB, thats how good & diverse he is from an objective angle.
Damn was kinda overrated tho. I feel like he gotta push the boundaries a lil bit
bet kendrick next metacritic score guys
gkmc: 91/100
Tpab: 96/100
DAMN; 95/100
next? imma say 95 again

nah, it was fairly rated, like hiphopdx said, u can even argue it's his best one. Not everyone taste maybe (thats if you don't like black rock and the kind of soul LA artists were making in the early 70s), but from an objective and unbiased angle? it's a masterpiece.
Also the word overrated doesn't mean anything in music, just that you personnally didn't enjoy an album that is held to very high regards for legitimate reasons. Like Stevie Wonder said, maybe try to improve your musical knowledge and come back to DAMN?
tbh it took me 7 months to understand the genius behind its musical composition
@Slingshot can u guess his next metacritic score fam?

I mean the songs were good but it just felt too accessible to me & watered down

wasn't watered down. The fact that you thought it was accessible is the proof you didn't get all of it lol. Like many critics said, it has even more layers than tpab. Its just infused with black rock, which is an accessible soul LA artists were making back in the days
to this day even Martin Connor is trying to crack the s*** out of this album
french journalist just said he heard kendrick worked with tame impala for this album
OMG

Dude I get all the religious and Israelite undertones. I meant in how he said it felt too safe and missed black the berry mad Kendrick

wasn't talking about religious s***, I was talking about how he said it ;)
and blacker the berry needs to be out of this convo. I love the song, but its the weakest on tpab, quality wise.
The translation said "would have" worked a lot with Tame Impala

I trust you more than this guy, don't think he's a journalist at all and probably took your info from KTT
So you heard that he worked closely with Tame Impala for this one and the sound is gonna be psychedelic rock?

that guy actually writes s*** for cliquetv, a french tv show
I thought we all knew Tame Impala and Kendrick have hit studio together and made songs. What's new about that tweet ?

Still doubt that he would be able to net any new info, especially considering this tweet
Seems like he's speculating just like us

that guy from reddit is probably legit as f***, if he had the right prediction for mac miller (only off by 1 week, but still knew a surprise album from him was coming that month) and the weeknd, there's no reason to doubt him about kdot
I mean, this can't be a f***ing coincidence
