idk about that, i just know danny said he was originally on a tpab track but kendrick decided not to use it so he came through on really doe to make up for it

Oct 21, 2020slutforkendrickthink DAMN. will go down as the worst kendrick album, assuming he doesn’t release anything worse. i’m listening to section.80 and s*** hasn’t aged much, and the way it has sort of reinforces the album(same w no make-up. bottom 3 kendrick song but it fits into the album well, so even if it’s a song i’d never go out of my way to listen to if i’m doing a full listen of the album i wouldn’t skip)
if i sat down and listened to DAMN. in its entirety i’d probably skip half the songs. love and god are some of kendrick’s worst songs imo. used to love XXX, loyalty and humble but now they’re just okay
that being said, pride lust and fear are still amazing. like i said, hit or miss
still a s***forkendrick tho
I was disappointed when DAMN dropped and thought it was like a 7. But now when I really pay attention to the lyrics of tracks like Pride, Feel and the overall concept I feel like I was too harsh. Its around an 8 but other artists would kill to have that album in their discography. I still feel like it'll end up being his weakest album when all is said and done. I don't really count s80 as an album but they're more or less equal to me anyway with a slight edge to DAMN because of the concept and Kendrick's maturity/development as an artist
The way I feel about DAMN is pretty much how I feel about Cherry Bomb - I don't quite know how to rate the album because some tracks are the artist's best work but others are absolute dookie

Idk man, i put DAMN. up there with GKMC. It combines the raw soundscape of S80, the bangers we got from GKMC and the mature substance from TPAB. Loyalty the only song i find myself skipping sometimes, but LOVE is mad catchy, and i f*** with the melodics of YAH and GOD

DAMN is definitely Kendrick's worst, but it is by no means a bad album though. I judge Kendrick by Kendrick's standards. Like someone else just said, other artists would kill to have DAMN in their discography.
If J. Cole made DAMN, that would've been the best album of his career.......
If Drake made DAMN, that would've been the best album of his career.......
If Big Sean made DAMN, that would've been the best album of his career.......
If Wale made DAMN, that would've been the best album of his career......
But Kendrick made it, and many consider it his weakest effort. It just goes to show how far and advanced Kendrick is to his peers today.

DAMN. combined elements of every kendrick album and its subject matter goes deeper/more spiritual than any other project he’s made. He was able to do all of this while STILL making it his most accessible and wide-reaching album to date.
It is the work of a master, can’t take anyone seriously who genuinely believes it is his weakest project

DAMN. hit good during the workout today. Love how Kendrick is able to pack dense spiritual themes without coming off as trying too hard and uninviting to casual listeners.
